When should I get a letter confirming my tax code for the new tax year?
My husband got one weeks ago and I want to check what tax code I will be on in the new year.

Can someone help explain this: I went onto the portal and HMRC have me down as £27560 as income I do pay tax on, but I only earned £12,500k this year... where has this £40k estimated income come from?
The pink box just does not exist, the purple is right as that is what I have earned.

Also, my old employer has listed this, and it says I have paid no tax, but I have a payslip showing they deducted £350 tax - should this not have been reported to HMRC?

My understanding is that letters advising of tax codes are now only sent out when they are non-standard.
You can look up online what it will be via your personal tax account.

As HMRC send out thousands of pieces of correspondence it is issued in batches as they can only process so many in a day and Royla Mail can only process so many in a day.  Your notification  is unlikely to have been procesed at the same time as your husband's.

Once it is the hands of Royal Mail HMRC  have  no control when RM will deliver it.

You should be able to see what your code nimber for next year is  by going into your personal Tax account online.

That states that you did pay £378.20 in September, refunded in October.

Just got off phone to HMRC and its the JSA counts as £15k each and they put it on twice so its sorted. I need to get my ex employer to refund me the tax I paid or send me a new P45 with the correct tax paid as they told them they refunded it all to me, when they did not.

What earnings and tax deducted does the payslip show. And for what month?

I earned £1400 and taxed £351. Initially they did pay me £1891 and that was wrong by  £500 so they had to reduce it down. They refunded me £70 in tax to account for this and I thought it was all sorted. But turns out they didnt report this to HMRC, instead telling them I paid no tax. I had no end of problem with them sorting this in Sept and I will have to try and get this resolved now.
Doesnt look like I will pay tax on it twice because I am under the threshold, but I am actually owed £300.
