Now I'm on a financial roll... I've FINALLY sat down with the details of the Spanish bank account I opened in early November to take advantage of an offer.
Managed to log myself in (after a brief panic, because the letter said 'these security details may be reset if they're not used for 30 days' - but fortunately they still worked). Have followed the advice of the relevant MSE thread and made 30 x £1 card payments to the Octopods, who are probably wondering what on earth is going on
I think @edinburger may have done the same thing. Let's hope it worked.
It seems they didn't send online login details for Mr C's account... But I *think* he had one before for a previous offer. Doesn't disqualify him from this, but it does mean he's probably already got login details - I'm just gearing myself up to get off the sofa and look.
Fingers crossed I can find them - If not, we'll be buying 30 separate pieces of fruit at the supermarket self checkout tomorrow

Well I found them - but having been sent out in April and not used (because we didn't need to for that switch) it seems they've deactivated them 🙄
So it looks like it's 30 separate transactions over the next few days 😂
If you see a massive queue in your local supermarket it's probably us buying individual mushrooms or something 😂13 -
30 cups of tea in a cafe to fulfil the criteria would work!Mortgage Free November 2018

But then Cheery would need 30 x a tuppence for the public conveniences! 🤣Staffordia said:30 cups of tea in a cafe to fulfil the criteria would work!

😂😂 it certainly would - although I think even i would struggle with 30 cos of tea in one day, and we'd use up the whole of January's treats budget 😂Staffordia said:30 cups of tea in a cafe to fulfil the criteria would work!
That is an EXCELLENT point - there are a couple of local towns with public convenience that take card payments 😂😂 maybe Mr C and I just need to go in and out of the loo for an hour each (or stand at the door offering to pay for other people?)Greying_Pilgrim said:

Greying X
The possibilities are endless! 😂😂
First though I need to transfer in some money and draw 30 lines on a piece of paper that I can cross off 😂😂11 -
Well lovely people,I did my candlelit yoga in front of the tree, and then while I was eating breakfast I had a revelation.
We can't log into Mr C's account online, but (of course!!) that doesn't stop us making online card payments! I didn't do mine through the bank itself - I did it via the Octopod app!
Plonker. Sometimes those brain cells do work slowly.
So I transferred £30 in, and made 30 x £1 payments to the octopods, and that seems to have worked fine.
So fortunately no need for 30 cups of coffee, or 30 trips to the loo, or 30 individual mushrooms 😂😂 Just a need to engage some brain cells 😂
And now I have run myself a daytime bath, because I need a rest after all that excitement 😂16 -
Oops, turns out I made 31 x £1payments and we got a warning text about being overdrawn 🙈 I KNEW I'd done 30, I'd crossed them off, but the Octopods were only showing 29 no matter how many times I refreshed so I did another one just in case because of course I couldn't log in to check 🙄 Hey ho. I transferred another £11 in immediately (£1 to cover the extra and £10 to withdraw at a cash point) and fingers crossed we don't get slapped with an overdraft fee 🙄
Nowt else to report. We've been to visit a friend this afternoon which was nice 😊6 -
I'm not sure which account you / Mr C has with Santander but mine as long as I'm not over drawn by sometime that day evening I'm not charged a fee, fingers crossed you made the payment before the cut off (whatever time that is) 🤞

Thanks, that's useful to know - it normal bank does the same, so fingers crossed.
No plans for today. I'm annoyed with myself because we could have done my second family visit today but I didn't get round to planning it early enough and I don't want to just spring it on people in the day. So it'll have to wait til Friday now, but there's bad weather forecast so it may end up getting postponed again. Hey ho, it's done now - and I'll let people know today.
So I think a bit of at- home pottering today. We've not done much on the way of housework over Christmas so I'll run the hoover round, put the present bags away, do some washing etc. A gentle day 😊
Tomorrow we're on a quick run to Mr C Snr who needs an errand or two, then going to stay with friends for new years eve. We'll do my family visit on 2nd, possibly combining with a trip to a friend, but we'll see what they weather is like - they live in an even more stupid isolated place than we do 😂 Saturday or Sunday I'll meet my sister for planning our 2026 goals. And then I've got another week off with no plans 😊😊9
