I love the sound of your candlelit yoga, is it a particular one you follow? I would love to be able to fit in a daily yoga session, I keep putting it on my good habits to get into list, along with meditation. I could feasibly fit it into the 2 days I WFH plus the weekend.
Sorry to hear you're feeling unwell. People are dropping like flies at work at the moment with this latest nasty bug doing its rounds. I hope you feel better soon.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Thank you 😊
I'm just following along with the Yoga for Adriene December playlist - it's just a curated list of videos she's done over the last 15 years or so. The theme is 'restore' which i am sorely in need of. She doesn't do it in candlelight 😂 when I've tried a yoga habit before I've tried it before bed, but this time I've been so stressed I decided I needed it at the start of the day, and candlelight (plus a small bedside lamp) seemed to make it a less objectionable way of getting out of bed.
No harm in just picking some of the ones you fancy from that list to fit into your WFH days 😊 I'm finding it helpful to have the decision taken away 😂 Soke are shorter than others, so you could decide to do all the ones in the playlist that are under 20 mins, for example.
Yawn. Well I'm not having the world's most vibrant and productive day, but I am plodding through my tasks and the deadline will be met (although I may be so sick of it tonight that I might choose to have a final read in the morning before submitting, we'll see).
Best get back to it. Hope Mr C is back soon with treats!7 -
I also have found with my recent lurgy that I was full blown anxious and rather low beforehand, but once I got ill I felt physically rubbish but after a couple of days much better in my mood. Very strange!Live the good life where you have been planted.

Very strange indeed! Glad you're feeling better now though.Elisheba said:I also have found with my recent lurgy that I was full blown anxious and rather low beforehand, but once I got ill I felt physically rubbish but after a couple of days much better in my mood. Very strange!
today has been a trial, but everything is uploaded ready for tomorrow's deadline. I'm waiting until the morning to actually press the button in case I've missed something daft with my cold-addled brain but hopefully not. Finished working about 9pm and am now back in bed! 😂9 -

It's gone 😊 and as this is an application style deadline, not a reporting style one, we now have to wait (for more than 3 months!!) for the outcome - which even a final outcome, but more of a permission-to-move-to-the-next-stage outcome. So I wouldn't bother holding your breath 😂
Still, I am relieved it's gone, and as I'd put it on my performance review as one of this year's objectives I can tick that off too 😂
Had an utterly rotten night's sleep, waking up left right and centre which is most unlike me! I cancelled the training I was meant to be on (nothing urgent), and have moved my 11am meeting online. I wanted to attend a local event later this afternoon but I really don't think I should be in a warm room in close proximity to a load of older people, so I'll be staying at home. And given I worked til 9pm last night, and now don't have any actual deadlines until well after Christmas, I might just go back to bed!10 -
Definitely a good call not to attend Cheery - as disappointing as it is you'd feel terrible if you passed it on to people wouldn't you.
Yes - get yourself back to bed. If you were actually travelling to an office it sounds very much like you would have called in sick anyway, and the ability to WFH does NOT mean that is what we should be doing when ill!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Indeed. You'll be pleased to hear that the minute I was out of my meeting (for various reasons I chose not to miss this one, but it wasn't arduous) I turned the computer off and curled up under a blanket, and have remained here ever since. Mr C has gone out to get me treats 😁
I did do some washing, and hung it on the line - no idea if it will have dried but it was pretty breezy out there. I'll rouse myself to check in a minute. That's my contribution to the housework today.
Mr C put a new plug on the fridge (after the rat gnawed the last one 🙄) and I'm delighted to say it's back on and working perfectly 😁 I think it's been 4 or 5 weeks without a fridge 😱 so I do appreciate having it back. Although as I said it's so blinking cold it's made literally NO difference to whether food has gone off - but it's nice to have the counter space back 😂
Still no sign of the rat since the initial droppings and compost intrusion of the first few days. Cleaned up the droppings and there have been none since. We've had six traps set ever since, and caught nothing other than 3 field mice 🙄😂
Anyway, not going to focus on it any more, although the traps will stay set for now.
Not long to go til the end of work now, but it's a busy few days coming up.
Tomorrow - hopefully I'll be well enough to work but we'll see
Fri 12th - Mr C has a gig in the eve, and we'll be staying over afterwards with our friends
Sun 14th - mum's to fit a carpet (!) then band practice. Long day.
Mon 15th - office. An cheerful work event, then friend's house for tea
Tues 16th, office, then meeting a different friend for tea
Wed 17th - office, then meeting another different friend for tea (!)
Thurs 18th - work event, then a leaving do
Then I'm off work til 12th January 🥳
So far the only specific plans are band Christmas concert on 20th, meeting some friends on 23rd, dinner with Mr C's family on Christmas eve, and staying with friends on New Year's Eve. And obviously visiting my family at some point but no set date yet.
Very ready for a break!11 -
Well, Mr C persuaded me last night that I should not even attempt work today and it would be unfair to risk spreading my germs around. So I've cancelled/postponed all appointments today (aside from a very short phone call in an hour or so) and am having a lazy day at home instead. Of course he asked if I fancied a coffee trip... but having declined to infect people at work, it seems only right to decline to infect the local townspeople too, so I am staying firmly in the house, and at the other end of it from him.
I did feel brighter yesterday after a la,t afternoon and a nice bath. I slept properly last night too, which is good. Still sniffling and snuffling and quite happy having a lazy morning, although I'm going to shake a tail feather as Greying would say, and attempt some activity...11
