Clear Credit History Mortgage Lender Scotland

Can anyone advise me please of a mortgage lender in Scotland who will take on someone who has a clear credit history? The person in question once had a bank loan which was paid off within the terms but now they are having problems securing a mortgage. The house is as good as theirs subject to obtaining a mortgage. As they live in Scotland I suppose different lending rules apply to those in England.
Many thanks

they are having problems securing a mortgage.
On the surface there doesn't seem a reason why they should be turned downI work for a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. he was turned down because he has no credit history - by that I assume no current debt.
I will call him later - it's my nephew - and find out exactly - he doesn't have access to the internet so I am helping him outWhat goes around - comes around

If your nephew has had a loan / bank account then he will have a credit history - it may be that they searched under the wrong address - is he on the elcetoral roll? does he have a current bank account?I work for a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
