Initial underwriting

Hi, just been told by mortgage advisor, that lender advised that we have passed initial underwriting. What does that mean? We are using valuation , which was already done previously. They only had one question at this stage, asking if my mum will live with me and asked memorandum of sale. Is this a good sign?
