    This is precisely why I would always advise colleagues NEVER to 'help out' the NHS system! (My actual advice is not to have anything to do with it in the first place!)

    It is politician's job to set out who should and should not get NHS treatment, and how much of it is available.

    If a dentist still has an NHS contract, then once it is fulfilled, don't muck about trying to help people - Someone will find it necessary to raise a complaint, and it's the dentist's career on the line once the GDC establish 'dishonesty'. 

    It's simply not worth the risk.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
