My son had received a mortgage in principal, this has now been refused as an address he rented a room in has come back with a bad credit check. What can be done about this? has the peoperty been searched, ie the landlord and not my son who has a good credit?

Properties don't have credit records only people do. Has your son checked his own credit file?Patsingtons said:My son had received a mortgage in principal, this has now been refused as an address he rented a room in has come back with a bad credit check. It is unlikely it will be the landlord.Patsingtons said:My son had received a mortgage in principal, this has now been refused as an address he rented a room in has come back with a bad credit check. Get your son to get a credit report and ensure he puts in that address as a previous address.
It could be your son, or someone your son is financially associated with - ie if your son took out a utilitiy bill with a flat mate.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. As ACG suggested.
Include this address in his credit report and see how it changes the data.I am a mortgage broker.
