Morning @Gers and thanks for the start.Cold here too with a light frost. I am full of cold after waiting 40mins for a bus home in the pouring rain on Thursday. However in better news I have found my dress for DS1s wedding in June, so that’s been ordered. DH has bought himself an extra day at work as has queried a couple of processes. Won’t change the outcome but it’ll hopefully make him feel less rubbish about it all.Roast pork today and we have to food shop for the week. Exciting that we are going in person rather than having a delivery - it’s the small things lol.Have a great day all and hugs to our poor lies and sad.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Durene Jones Haberdashery Shop 365 1p challenge member No.6 Read 24 books in 2024 - currently reading Into the Water by Paula Hawkins 14/2413

Morning - the bright blue sky has coaxed me out of bed despite the frosty start.Yesterday the catch up with Camelot was so lovely. The bus journey was more interesting than driving as I could see over hedges and down river banks. Camelot treated me to the brunch / lunch so huge thanks and hugs to her. Unfortunately I wasn't able to walk very far but really enjoyed the day anyway, the lochs were mirror-like, grey clouds cleared and the rain stayed away. I was surprised at how many tourists were around already.Of course, I was delighted at the rugby match yesterday. As I said to friends in Newcastle, not gloating just celebrating! They were at Murrayfield, I was happy at home. 😂This morning I'm off to do a bit of shopping and will visit friends on the way home for a wee coffee.@Coxy - well done that man.@SO - what a terrible shame, it's certainly a most odd way to start such a meeting. Perhaps if you tell them then it'll be different when you go again.I hope that everyone has a good day.12

Morning All
You're all making me very confused this week with the dates, please tell me today is Sunday, although it would be nice to have Saturday all over again!
Great meet up with Gers yesterday, brunch was really tasty and the chat was good. Loved the bus, TA its a bit like your National Express coaches. It was lovely to sit and take in the scenery rather than watch the road.
That's rubbish for your DH Coxy, hope he can get everything sorted. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm sure you didn't make a fool of yourself SO, it's a lot to ask of everyone, please try again.
Sorry you've had a setback NRA and feel a little down.
You're so patient with your Dad Nanny.
Hoping you're feeling better today dp1 and Ruby.
The weather is sort of nothing, quite chilly but calm, I think the washing will be staying inside as there's not a breath of wind.
Off to do the shopping in a bit then a slothful afternoon calls. Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks GERS for the start but the day has confused me!! A lovely start here but there is a covering of frost so I expect it will be nippy out there.
I have unexpected "guests" as the 2 younger DGDs descended on me yesterday afternoon with overnight bags! Elder one said DD had asked me if it was ok but she definitely hadn't! Good job I hadn't gone out after all. They are currently in bed but breakfast is ready to go on when they come down. They were a bit disappointed there was no Bol Bake for tea but so as I remain in their good books I have made it for lunchtime instead! Needless to say I was up at silly o'clock so it kept me out of mischief!
i am off to do a quick top up shop with DS late morning. He was quite impressed with Aldi last Sunday so off there again. I don't need much as I did a good shop last week. Grocery shopping isn't top of DGD's favourite pastimes but they will be ok to leave here.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) to our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. SO I too was a bit shocked at the introduction idea at the bereavement group meeting. Maybe your quick departure has done some good and they realise now it isn't a good idea to put people through such an ordeal when they are already feeling fragile. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all, very frosty this morning. No real plans today, DGD football was cancelled so the day is our own. Had a lovely night out with DB & SIL, seems ages since we last had a night out. Glad you both enjoyed your day out Gers and Camelot, bus journeys do sometimes have advantages.I haven't decided what we'll eat later but there is some chicken left. Apart from that a lazy day!Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9

Good morning all,
Thank you for the start Gers, Pleased you enjoyed your catch up with Camelot
Thank you all for being so kind and supportive, it really does mean so much. Some of the people at the bereavement café had been going for a year or more, others less. For some reason I had it in my head we'd probably sit in small groups, drink tea and chat. Even before I lost my DH I would have found it difficult to talk to so many. They only meet once a month so I've plenty of time to decide what to do.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning all! Sunny! and BRRR! Fire was on again last night, the wood stocks can maybe stretch to another few so fingers crossed I won't need more wood. I'll get it in the summer then ready for next winter. Not much happening today, cooking a piece of brisket, potentially going out to get OH some new headphones, check the laptop still works because we're having a zoom on Tuesday and that's about it. Maybe some gardening although I will need several layers to peel off if I work op a sweatGers and camelot, glad your meet went well, sounds lovely and equally lovely not to drive and see a new perspective. The times when I am the passenger and not the driver are always fun..I commiserate with you Gers on the not walking so far. Most annoying, hopefully someone will be able to suggest something helpful for you soon. Coxy, hope your OH can come to terms with it quickly..sometimes a little bit of time off gives perspective. TA, what a fab gran you are, not letting them go without their most loved staple! Rosy, nice for a change isn't it? NRA, not a whinge, a story of happenings...everyone is allowed a grumble or two, life isn't perfect and just because one person is ahving a rubbish time, it doesn't mean yours is worthy of less grumble...Go ahead, and rumble loud and proud!! Rosy, enjoy a day of football free,it's too cold anyway watch it from the warmth of your house instead...Stay wrapped up al, hope you don't have rain and just a bit of cold, get the blankets out and the hot toddies...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...9

Hello all, it's a grey and freezing day here. I started this post at 9.30 so sorry for my lateness but I got distracted by watching our xmas video as DGD hadn't seen it.
We had a lovely evening with DGD although she's now at that age where her head is almost permanently in her phone ! We did watch a film together though and she talked my ears off in between. She has to take a photo that depicts Spring for her art class so has chosen my lonely daffodil, I hope she does it justice as it's the only one left that the squirrel didn't eat/ dig up 🤔. Lunch will be hot dogs and her favourite Vienetta for pudding so that's an easy lunch and DD will collect her afterwards.
Coxy I hope DH sorts things out for his satisfaction.
NRA moan away, I'm the worlds prolific moaner so join the club, entrance is free. Many hugs back at you. Take it easy until you're 100% ( says she who can't sit down for more than 5 mins )
TA if your DGC are anything like mine they think you don't do anything and will always be on call 😂 And they are probably right of course.
SO hopefully next time will be easier if you can pluck up the courage to try it again.
Sorry I have forgotten who said what now so apologies for not replying.
Take care and hugs to all
nan xx

Morning all
Thanks for all the well wishes I slept over 12 hours last night 😳 but feel a tiny bit better this morning so it must have done me good, last night in bed my hands, armpits and eye sockets were aching so much it was very strange but I took some night nurse and the aches seem to have gone now.
Not sure about dinner today it’s mums day for coming but I put her off as I don’t want her getting this, we have a chicken to cook so might just do chicken salad and crusty bread I don’t fancy much more.
Camelot and Gers glad you enjoyed your meet xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9
