  • Thank you so much @missile  - great advice! I've checked, and yes he's registered as sole owner. That could be very useful information, thank you! As for who has been making the payments, that's a good question. I've asked exactly the same thing, and the mortgage company will not tell me. It's underpayment, which is why the account is in arrears. You're also correct about the solicitor, who, as soon as the paperwork came through wrote to say he was no longer dealing on my behalf... and yes, it's another route to explore. Thank you for taking the time to share your advice, much appreciated.
