Thanks nmlc for starting. Can I just officially say - I hate rain!! Woken up to torrential rain - I’d just like a day without muddy boots and paws but I think that day is a long time off yet.I’m working this morning and evening , post office and bank chores in between as well as popping home and partaking in the aforementioned mud bath.Trying to decide if the rough patch on the temporary inlay on my tooth is going to bother me and needs a smooth or if it’ll settle for the couple of weeks - don’t really have time for a dentist visit but will see how it goes today.Hope everyone has a good day and stays as dry as possible

Morning - battering rain first thing though it's cleared for now.Yesterday I had enjoyed the tidy up. The postie brought my new Hotter trainers, half price, and a large parcel from my closest friends. It's got three wrapped presents and a bottle of pink champers, I've resisted opening the gifts until next week There was also a beautiful card which was a collage of us during various gatherings. It actually made me cry. That and the very large number on the front of it! 😂
The cleaner came on time so I went out for a wee coffee at the newly re-opened cafe which I like. Things round here tend to close for winter with most ready for Easter though some do a staged opening. Coming back to a cleaned home is so lovely.Today is pool session so my bag is ready. I'm contemplating going to another village to buy some Dexter beef, just to try it. Perhaps it's not so different but I'm intrigued to try it. The other week I had buffalo meat so it a wee adventure. 😀
@AA - get the rough patch smoothed. Your tongue will be drawn to it and become sore. (Talking from experience).
I hope all our poorlies have a good day.10 -
Hi everyone,
I'm up and dressed early to take Steve to the golf club so that I could have the car in case I get an SOS from Crystal (Nate isn't well). Just as we were about to walk out the door Steve got a call to say both courses are closed because of waterlogging. One of the courses is constructed on very sandy soil so it doesn't often close. I'm glad he's not going though because it's still raining and I was a bit concerned about him getting wet and cold.
We got back from the spa yesterday to a nice clean house, there's just a bit of washing to do from our time away. That reminds me, why do men expect you to think for them. I washed all the towels last week, Steve folded them, put them in a pile and then asked where they went. The airing cupboard hasn't moved in the 42 years we've lived here and the towels have always lived there.
dp1, I'm glad little one is home, hopefully she will recover quickly. I hope you're feeling better as well.
I hope all the poor;y people are as well as can be expected.
Have a good day.

Morning all
Raining here and set in for the day, AA I feel your pain I seem to be constantly hoovering/ moping muddy boot prints and paw prints off of the floor atm !
I woke yesterday with a horrible sore throat so cancelled Rob and took some tablets and went back to bed I woke again at 11 feeling just as bad and today is the same, I had booked today off anyway as my car is going in for it’s mot so will have a snuggly day indoors apart from a muddy dog walk 🙄
DD is struggling a bit with her braces so soft food is the order of the day, last night we had cottage pie and tonight will either be a jacket spud or salmon with risotto.
I have put a wash on this morning but it will have to go on the airer, house needs a quick tidy and I’m sure a mop round later.
Nan good luck with your appointment today xx
DP1 I’m glad little one is home xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning All
I'm sneaking on here from work - the boss is away this morning! I was woken up by the alarm this morning which is highly unusual, must have been in a deep sleep.
Washing was put by the fire last night but I didn't have time to put it away, will do it when I get home. I cleaned out the log box I keep by the fire yesterday, there was so much dust in the bottom I had to carry it out and tip it in the garden.
Hoping your appointment goes well today Nanny.
Feel better soon Ruby.
Glad you had a good time away snoozer.
I would get the tooth smoothed out Allie, it will just annoy you.
What an exciting parcel Gers.
Hope you and the little one are feeling better dp1.
Right, breakfast club has just opened so I had better do some work, take care. XX11 -
Morning everyone
I got an appointment at the doctors yesterday, she said the chest infection hasn't cleared up so I've got more antibiotics and steroids. Had a good chat about Long Covid - I think the person in front of me mustn't have shown up as I was in 10 minutes early and the doctor wasn't in a hurry. I had read online that anti histamines have helped some people with symptoms, she agreed there was no harm in trying.
I'm going to go down to mam and dads this morning, as I didn't get yesterday and then will get some shopping and bus back home. Little one will come for tea and a sleepover as DD is working tomorrow - I've some mince to cook so we might make a lasagne.
Better get moving - hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Morning everyone I was up and out early this morning a house I clean are away on holiday but she wanted me to go up and clean the cupboards out in the kitchen check the house and pick up any post so I had a bit of a dust and cleaned the floors again there was nothing to do really but it just keeps it nice for them coming home so I’m home nice and early now I need to pop to the library when that opens i will prepare a pan of potatoes for tonight then they are just to turn on when I come in it’s not as if I can sit outside it’s tipping down again. Gers how lovely am I guessing right you are another pisces I think there is a few of us on here Snoozer your spa day sounds lovely when my hubby can’t find anything or is looking for something I usually say something along the lines of they are probably in the west wing honestly you would think we lived in Downton Abbey and it doesn’t matter what he starts doing it’s only a matter of minutes before he starts shouting of me where is this and that I’m always the little unpaid apprentice passing him things and finding things in his ideal world everything would live in the middle of the dining table. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning! what an unholy racket of sleet, I thought the roof had gone it was so loud. Both cats came running in which is not what they nomally do when it's raiing, they have to be coaxed gently in or picked up and unceremoniously dumped. Waiting on phone call from the docs this morning...and I have more falafel to cook or shape and freze and I have yet to sort the freezers out..maybe that's a job for today. I managed to not psend much yesterday, a present for a friends 60th, a present for another friend [ March is very heavy with birthdays, 11 or twelve of them I think] and I went cray cray and bought myself a sketch book and pencils. I may or I may not start drawing again but on the off chance, three quid isn#t going to break the hobby bank.snoozer, I don't know but it's most irritating. It's not as if I hide things, they live where they live, and I swear I will suffocate OH with his socks one day if he asks me another stupid question or fails to move his mug from his [HIS!] side tble and put it in the itchen which is no more than 12 foot away....I commiserate with all the people whose other halves are unable to think. Please ladies, if you have sons, train them to do stuff....save a future generation of the same moansAnd on that note, take care all today!Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...10

Morning all.
The weather is not playing ball at all today. It's chucking it down with rain and I have tickets for us all to go to a Children's Farm as it's half term here. I've already chatted with DD and we've postponed it for half an hour but I'm determined to still go. Sandwiches have been made for DGS and my walking boots are out at the ready.
Apart from that I've been busy this week and we're meant to be walking with friends again tomorrow. We should still be able to go but am expecting lots of mud.
GERS: I'm ahead of you by 2 months and about a week as far as birthdays go. I've got used to being the age I am now but wasn't looking forward to it.
Hope everyone's day goes well. Stay dry!8 -
Morning all,
Long time no posting but I’ve been reading along.
Glad DGD is home @dp1 x
It’s DH’s last day in his current job today. Bizarrely HR have still not answered some of his questions so the fight goes on. Just crazy.
We are off to see the Bob Marley film this evening and Wicked Little Letters tomorrow. Making the most of the limitless ticket in case we need to cancel it going forward.
Dinner is SC gammon in Pepsi Max with various veg.
Have a good day all and hugs to our poorlies.
Coxy x
