Halifax mortgage process

Hi all
I’m an anxious home mover with a FTB buying our property. I was told he applied for his mortgage with Halifax last Thursday and we received his solicitor details off the back of the application but it’s been radio silence since. I’ve been sat waiting for a valuation to be scheduled but neither us nor our estate agent has heard anything.
Should I be concerned? Our purchase already has a valuation booked in so I’m wondering if he’s hit some stumbling blocks with his app if a val hasn’t been instructed.

Thanks & appreciate no one can comment not knowing any more detail but just wondered if anyone had applied with Halifax recently and what your experience has been.

It may not have been instructed yet if documents need signing-off first. EG If self-employed. Alternatively, it may be an automated valuation with no need for a call for access.I am a mortgage broker. Thank you, I don’t believe he is self employed. I will just wait!0

It takes time. I applied through Halifax. They buyer has an online portal and he needs to make payment for the valuation (or home buyers survey) depending on what he wanted.
That for me was booked in a week or two later, and then a week later it was done. I suppose with my one they actually had to visit the property whereas they are usually desktop valuations and are much quicker.1
