Self Managed DMP & affordability complaints

First of all, I'd just like to say a huge thank you to all who contribute to this board. I've been lurking for a few months now and the knowledge passed on has been a huge help. Also, I have read the DMP thread but cannot for the life of me find the information I'm looking for although I do recall seeing it at some point.
I started my self managed DMP in December. All payments have stopped and I'm in the continous loop of calls and threatening letters. None of the debts have been transferred to other companies and no defaults, although it's probably a bit too soon for that.
My question is about affordability complaints. Is it worth starting this process now or will this delay the defaults? I obviously want the defaults as quick as possible but thought I may as well chance the complaints while I'm in limbo waiting for the defaults.
I aim to send CCA requests to some of my creditors as well as some credit agreements are from years ago. is it best to send these once the debts have been sold and defaulted? My thinking here is that once the debt is passed on the new debt collection agency are less likely to have the CCA.
Thanks!

regarding affordabilty when I self managed my DMP i refused to complete a SOA for anyone as i said that I had worked out what I could afford to pay each of then and that my other debts were none of their business. Some weere sold on to the same companies but I handled everything individually. including settlements years down the line/0

Ah apologies, I think we have our wires crossed. I was talking about affordability complaints to see if I can some of my debts reduced. I.e because they should never have given me the loan or credit card.
Good point you make though about completing the SOA when it comes to that. Still on the fence about how to approach it.0 -
I'd definitely wait until they have been sold and have been with debt collectors.for a while before doing CCA requests. It will be less likely they will be found that way.
Affordability complaints can take a long time, my Nationwide one was 2 years from posting the letter to getting the refund cheque. I'm not sure what best really, I'd probably get the complaints in motion now.
Good luck - out of £42k debt I got £13k of interest refunded from affordability complaints, and £16k of it is unenforceable.0 -
Wow! What a fantastic result. Proof that it's definitely worth the effort. OK great. I'll make a start on the affordability complaints now but leave the CCA requests until defaults have been issued and the debts have been sold on. Thanks!0
