Halifax mortgage porting questions

Hello all, I have a couple of questions in case somebody here can help.
I had a call already with the bank but want to be sure since it sounded very confusing.
I have a house and mortgage in my name.
I want to buy/move to a new house with my partner (not married). I don't want to borrow more nor repay my mortgage, I just want to "transfer" my mortgage on the new property.
Both our names will be on the deeds, but I would like the mortgage to remain on my name only. Is it possible?
And do you know how does the porting works? The person on the phone said I had to reapply with both names and do a new mortgage in principle, but I don't want to borrow more.
Thanks in advance, I am so very confused by this, I thought it would have been easier.

1. You would both need to be on the deeds and the mortgage. Halifax will not consider applications on a sole application, joint proprietor basis
2. You can port the product, the porting facility is not designed to port the mortgage. This means that the current mortgage is repaid and a new mortgage must be applied for on the new property. You can apply the current rate to the new mortgage and avoid any early repayment charges - but it is a whole new application process.
I hope that all makes sense.I am a Mortgage Broker

would need to be in both namesDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
