Morning All
Very blustery this morning with rain due later, shame as the last couple of days have been quite spring like.
Hope the little one and your DD can get home soon dp1.
Glad you got your new WM sorted quickly nmlc.
Happy to hear your loo is fixed Gers.
Hope you're enjoying your spa break snoozer, just go with the flow.
Fantastic news on your crocus Ruby!
Sounds like you had a good day out taff.
Must go to the library after work, I took out 3 books and enjoyed 2 of them but the 3rd is awful so have given up early on - taff you're right, life's too short!
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Morning all
A quick visit -crazy week with x6 sessions at part time work plus dentist, vet, and garage and a craft fair on Saturday (for which I’m not fully prepared and still trying to finish items) then DMs birthday on Sunday. Monday may be spent horizontal 😂🤞
Hope everyone has a good week and fingers crossed especially for dp1’s little one to be fully better and able to return to home and school.AA12 -
Morning folks. Heavy rain is forecasted for the day. I suppose it's better than months of drought.Yesterday's exercise class was tough going, no idea why as it's always broadly similar. It must have been my body having a bad day. This ongoing hip / mobility problem isn't improving so I need to speak to my GP about it again. As usual, I took away my recycling but then left the ordinary rubbish in the car for today. It would have been another 20 miles so saved that for when I'm going into town later this morning. The high point was lunch. 😂 I'd defrosted a meat ragu portion which had been lingering too long and enjoyed it with red cabbage. The ragu turned out to have had a decent amount of chilli flakes added so I spooned over a dollop of sour cream. There's enough left for today.Have a great day. DP1 I really hope that your little one gets home soon and that your DD can rest.11

Good morning all
Thank you for the start nmlc
Made my first cup of tea and the house felt chilly so heating on.
Weather forecast says it will be dry so will go for a walk. Nothing else happening.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning all
Dry here but chilly I have put the heating on for an hour, three people coming today and we will decide when they get here what they want to do, there is always the option of a walk / hot drink somewhere which they all seem to love.
DD had her braces fitted they actually look a lot better than I thought she was in a bit of discomfort but that’s to be expected, she did have trouble eating anything though so soup will feature a lot I think !
Dinner tonight will be cold meat (last turkey from Christmas) with mash and peas DD is working late shift so she will take some soup to work.
House is tidy I just need to run the hoover over and the washing basket is empty for once !
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Dull but dry here again but heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for tomorrow. We must have have been spoiled for long enough!
Not a lot worth mentioning here today - but is there ever! I got as far as putting 2 summer skirts in the cs bag yesterday before sliding the door shut in despair. I must get my ruthless head on before my next attempt!
ROSY you are right about me knowing Brimham Rocks well. Our caravan site is only 2 or 3 miles away and back in the day we visited regularly. Especially in bilberry picking season when I had the freezers rammed with them for jam, pie and crumble making. Yum yum. And whilst on the subject of the caravan it's not long until the site opens again. DD intends going for Easter, no matter what the weather has in store, but I think I will wait until it's a bit more settled.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Dp1 I hope we get better news of your little DGD today. Your poor DD must be exhausted. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all, enjoy the event at work nmlc.DH has just taken the bag of carpet offcuts to put in the skip at work - when he opened the van side door one of DGS footballs bounced out and along the road and he had to give chase, not easy with his dodgy hip! Hope yours eases Gers.TA, we call them whinberries/wimberries this side of the Pennines We used to collect them from around Winter Hill but they are so fiddly to pick- delicious though. There is sometimes a stall on Bury market that sells pies when in season, not as nice as homemade though.Off to see my old neighbour this morning, involves 2 buses. I might call in the sm near the bus station and buy some flowers for her, and a card for DH's birthday later this week.Topsy, I feel for you both, it must be so hard.Right need to have a dig in the freezer for tea - have a good day all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Windy here this morning but dry, it feels a lot cooler.
Thanks again for all the good wishes for DD and little one, especially Topsy turvy when you have so much going on with your own son, it must be very difficult for you both.
The ward little one was on at the hospital had 2 young lads on, both 16, one had come off a motorbike and the other hit by a car. Little one was worrying about them when I was there, one kept crying, DD said his mum had apologised and said she hoped it wasn't upsetting little one too much. She'll come out with some stories when she gets home, there had been a little boy in one day who'd had his appendix out, so of course that was very interesting.
Good news is they were moved into their own room on a different ward yesterday afternoon, with a proper fold down bed for DD to sleep on, so hopefully she's had a better night. Little one was to try to sleep without oxygen last night, on a monitor to see if and when her oxygen levels drop. DD seemed hopeful last night that, if she's been ok through the night, they might get home today. They'll have been there a week by tonight.
Anyways, I'm going to try to be a bit more productive today as yesterday I didn't seem to get much done at all - just some cleaning and tidying to do, and I have a bag to fill for a charity collection tomorrow. Will put the cats blankets in for a wash too - they'll soon dry in the wind. I have a couple of phone calls to make too.
Hope everyone has a good day today x11 -
Morning all, I had an awful night so I'm on autopilot today. Yesterday Mr Fix It tidied the office and put a few things in the cs bag and I emptied the fridge and washed it inside and out then I did quite a few other little jobs around the house. I stripped the chicken and I made a sweet chilli stir fry with it, delicious. In the afternoon I had a phone call to tell me my next hospital appointment would be on Thurs, gulp ! It's at another "new to me" hospital, so I'll be wandering down more unknown corridors 😲 They'll be giving me badges for navigation and sign reading at this rate !
Today I have some washing to do then later we have the DGC to pick up from school and bring them back here for tea. Mr Fix It is being a taxi service for Dad today too as his car is going in for a service and MOT so he's picked him up from the garage and taken him home then later he will take him back to collect his car.
I remember going to collect wimberries on the mountain with DM and Dad when I was small, hated the things myself.
dp1 hugs for DD and DGD hope they can come home today and DD can get some sleep. I'm sure your DGD will tell you all about it, blow by blow 😁
Topsy hugs for you in bucket loads.
Gers gentle hugs for your hip. Hopefully some rest might help.
RedRuby I hope DD gets used to her braces very soon and can then eat normally.
Better shake a leg and get the washing on, it's damp here so inside drying it is. Hugs to all in need.
Take care all

Morning! The gardening went well yesterday, it makes such a difference not to be hobbling around, three cheers for the NHS and injections! More of the same today because I checked and the green bin gets done Thursday..I'm on a mission to cover all the ground in the front garden so I might have to *whispers* have a look in a garden centre..Don't tell anyone...and don't tell my bank balance either...I have chick peas soaking to make falafel today so a quick walk up to the Asian shop for some fresh coriander is on the cards. I love that shop, there' so mch new stuff to look at and try and they also have a butchers at the back. At some point I'm going to have to sort the freezers out again, a job I'm putting off obviously. OH now has the comedy bug and is thinking about doing more stuff in that area, good on him I say, there's always time ot try something different.dp1, hope they can get to the bottom of it soon and hopefully your DD might get some more sleep that way, well done on them for moving her to a room..Rosy, yep, wimberries, I remember going with a friend picking those, we just sat down and picked around us...I found them much tastier than blueberries which always taste a bit dull to me. Hope your neighbour enjoyed your visit Ruby, hope she doesn't take long to get used to them...SO, perhaps you could reframe your day, there's not nothing else happening, you've got up, got dressed, you're going out of the house and you're engaging socially online at a bare minimum. That's plenty of things happening That's probably more than my usual day of sitting in the house on the sofa looking out of the window Gers, how annoying about your hip, fingers crossed for more mobility...camelot, shame about the rain and I hope you find a better book later topsy, yeah, the eternal curse of the young where everything revolves around them...and oo, a date? as everyone used to say to Specky, do we need hats? nanny, hope you're having a nice rest after your whirwind weekend! Izzy, the countdown is sprinting to the end now! Right, I'm orf for more wake up juice, have a good day if you can everyone, including the unposters....Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...9
