Buy to Let Mortgage and Council Tax

  • Yes, that is correct. The sister changed the mortgage to buy to let but changed her mind about letting it out. She remained in the property but didn't pay sufficient funds. Initially my partner agreed to buy the flat and sell it within 5 years, ten max. That was a verbal agreement.  He has other financial responsibilities so couldn't keep paying her half of the mortgage and council tax only his portion.
The meeting yesterday appears to have been a success.  She has agreed to list the property for sale by April latest.
We will assist her and her husband in downsizing and getting a more affordable mortgage. They are both working, so shouldn't be too difficult.
