A nice mild start to the day here, I could get used to it.

Morning. I've had my first coffee and ready to start my day.In lieu of my hair appointment yesterday I visited friends. I took us a Portuguese custard tart each, such a lovely treat, which we enjoyed with coffee and great chat. The rain piddled down all day making everything grey and dank. Today could be the same so I don't have any plans for it apart from cleaning the fridge and perhaps oiling the outside of it. Great,eh?
I hope that everyone is doing well. Nan, Taff, NRA, Snoozer, SO, DP1's little one amongst others.12 -
Good Morning
I am a bit amiss at posting. Now on a few days off work so trying to catch up at home.
DS2 is a bit up and down, it’s been 14 months since his accident. Went to see his consultant and he is still not allowed to weight bear on his left leg, he said he can hopefully start to learn to walk again in April so fingers crossed.Today I’m walking the dog with my friend I met dog walking and we are having a girls night out in the village tonight for a few drinks.
I am taking DS2 out for breakfast/brunch to get him out of the house.
Plans are to continue sorting and getting rid of stuff I don’t need. I have a mortgage in principle so need to find something to buy. I am looking forward to not paying rent.
DP1 hope the little one is improving.
Nanny - sorry to read of your health issues, make sure you rest.
Taff - I get tired just reading what you accomplish. Make sure you rest too.
SO - my dm went to a bereavement group about 5 years ago and they still meet up every couple of months for lunch now.Snoozer - I have to zip my mouth when watching my son and his partner some times, their baby is 10 months old, I have never seen a child have so many toys, new clothes etc.Sorry can’t remember much else, send get well wishes to all who need them.I will try and post a bit more often.take care.11 -
Happy Weekend
Lovely walk in the Shropshire Hills yesterday followed by a look around Church Stretton and a visit to Scrappies - fantastic scrap store with loads of craft/fabric/haberdashery stuff that you didn’t even know you needed. Overnight in the campervan (first stay of the year) and will do similarly today and head home later though the weather forecast is not so good. Lovely blue sky for part of yesterday.
Hope everyone has a good weekend

Morning all. Dull but dampish here.
We had a good walk of about 6.5 miles yesterday and managed to fit in a coffee stop at Pitsford Reservoir and then a pub lunch at the end. Our friends then invited us back to theirs (walking distance, just down the road) to help eat up their Christmas cake! We have a tentative date of next Friday for the next part of the walk.
Today we're meeting the family at a Country Park but won't hang about as rain is due after lunch.
My Bank paperwork finally got finished and has been passed on to the Committee members, who will have to get it signed and sent off.
Hope everyone is well and has a good weekend.8 -
Morning All
Dank and grey this morning but very mild. I'm going with DD back to the flat this morning to get it ready for sale and finish off the cleaning now all the tennants furniture has been taken away.
We had emails yesterday about severance/early retirement so I've registered my interest. Not sure my job will be among those that will go but must be worth asking.
Nice to hear from you topsy, hope your DS continues to recover.
Hope the little one gets home soon dp1 and you feel better.
How was the restaurant TA?
Must get moving, I scrubbed all the tiles in the shower last night and the bathroom smells of bleach so not very inviting!
Have a good weekend, take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's a bit of a drab start here but at least it's not raining. I think we are to expect some light stuff later. Another rubbish night last night and when I did manage to nod off I was woken up with bad dreams.
Our visit to the restaurant yesterday lived up to promise. The food was delicious and the new decor is absolutely beautiful. It used to be an Italian restaurant but they moved out a few years ago to bigger premises. Long may this one remain as it has already gained lots of regulars. It's a good job we booked as all the other tables were taken.
I have a relative coming shortly to borrow my wheelchair for DD's ex MIL who has broken her leg. Officially it's not really my wheelchair as it was my Bobs, but rather than sell it when he died I thought I would hang on to it in case my mobility got worse.
No plans for today but I keep looking in the wardrobe and then shutting it again in despair.. I really need to prune it as there's so much stuff I haven't worn in ages.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, MIA, sad or lonely. TOPSY lovely to see you back with us. Fingers crossed that your son will be soon be walking again. SNOOZER ooh what a treat, Ragdale Hall. The nearest I have got to it is their Energise body mist spray that my DD got me! Dp1 I hope your lovely little DGD is soon well and back home again. Take care all and be safe and take it easy all the poorlies! xx

Hi everyone,
Nice to see you Topsy, your poor son, I hope all will be well in April for him to start walking.
Camelot, I hope it works out for you.
Well, we saw the family off about 2.30 so only a couple of hours after they planned to leave which is good for them. A couple of hours later w e got a phot of a flat tyre. Of course their car is one without a spare and also has very specialist tyres that not many places stock (it's a volvo, not anything esoteric). After waiting for the breakdown for a couple of hours they managed to source a tyre for today and booked into a pub for the night. Thankfully they had decided to go across country rather than M25/M4 so they were stopped in a quiet area and didn't have to get out of the car with two small children and wait at the side of a busy motorway.
I managed to sort through the toy boxes and found most of the missing items, culled some outgrown toya and had a redistribution so I feel much better. I shall tackle the books today.
Steve ended up on antibiotics yesterday, he started to go downhill so we made him ring the Dr instead of waiting until it got really bad so hopefully he'll recover quite quickly.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday was dry and sunny all day and I got my washing almost dry outside. Still feeling really tired and achy but I'm going to have a short walk later to get outside. I spent most of yesterday afternoon reading on my bed, in the sunshine.
Little one was kept in for another night. DD said that on Thursday night, she'd had a really unsettled night - her blood sugar alarm went off a few times and then she'd had a sore tummy, but she hadn't needed to be on oxygen. The doctor had said he was happy to send her home at lunch time, but DD asked if they could wait till after little one had had a nap, as she didn't think she'd had a deep enough sleep to make her oxygen drop. Sure enough, she'd only been asleep 10 minutes when she needed the oxygen back on. Same again last night, her levels had dropped 5 minutes after she had gone to sleep. DD has learnt to be assertive with the doctors - if she'd brought her home, it's 60 miles back to the hospital. Little one had been a lot happier yesterday and had been along to the play room, so that's good news - will just have to see what today brings.
I'm sorry my mind's like a sieve just now, so I'll just wish you all a good day whatever you're up to. Oh, and some sunshine x11 -
Hello all, it's grey and murky here, roll on spring. I had a disturbed night too tossing and turning, I couldn't decide whether I was hot or cold so I was under the bedding and then 5mins later on the top of it.
It's all change today as DGD was coming for a sleepover but she has a poorly tummy so DGS has stepped in and swapped weekends. I've had to rethink the menu for today as I was cooking DGD's favourites so I've had to dip in the freezer, DGS's not fussy as long as there's a lot of it 😂
Topsy I hope DS is mobile soon.
Camelot I hope the severance/retirement package is as you hope.
dp1 poor DGD, hope she's better and home soon.
TA glad the meal went well.
Snoozer hope the anti b's work quickly for Steve. Enjoy your quiet time without the family.
Sorry I have forgotten who else said what so I'll bid you all a good day.
Take care all
nan xx

Moring. I deifnitely got up late today but who cares, it's Saturday. I did make pasta last night, not sure about the raviloli/tortelloni, they may fall apart but for a first go, it's all good. And I had some fresh pasta with pesto for supper so it was edible ok, it was lovely, there, I blew my trumpet... The foot injection seems to have taken the pain away from where it was so acid test tomorrow when we go to London. We're going to see what would have been OHs comedy thing to support etc...so driving to Chiswick to park and catching tubes to the rest of it. [or that's what OH tells me, he says he knows the way, I hope so because I don't! ] I did get my haircut but obviously, it was hairdresssers mirror time again when it looked a lot longer than it was so I asked her to take more off, got home, look like a skinhead time....Oh well, two weeks and it'll grow..Still haven't put the things to go to people in bags, maybe that's a job for today....OOps, posted too soon...Gers, why are you oiling the fridge? Topsy, it's a long time for both of you to be dealing with it, deep breaths, hopefully not for much longer and congratulations on the house buying! Allie, sounds good...enjoy being home later...WL, good job on the paperwor and the walking...camelot...ooo...fingers crosed for you. TA, don't worry, if I win the lottery, we'll all go there snoozer, very lucky they went on little roads...and good planning to have breakdown cover And fingers crossed steve improves quickly...good job on the decluttering too. Or you could just chuck it all out and see hwo long it takes to replace it al dp1, hope they can find out what's wrong before they send her home, and hope your cold goes quick, [or whatever it is] hope the antibiotics and steroids are helping..don't take chances.....nanny, poor thing didn't she miss you the other week too? Are we certain dgs isn#t putting something in the water so he can see you instead? Shout out to the missing, and any on holiday! Take care all....Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...9
