Simply Adverse Credit Brokers

Does anyone have any experience of Simply Adverse? We are potentially looking at using them to remortgage - just wondered if anyone has any advice eg success stories, customer service, fees etc? Thanks in advance :)

nothing is popping out that says FCA.  I'd be wary.  Others may know better.

sorry - looking further - it appears there is a reference to FCA but also to a £2495 fee for referring you to a lender.  So why go through them rather than a traditional mortgage broker.  I've never used a broker but others recommend them for trickier mortgage situations.

  • I’ve used them and they were excellent. 2 other brokers let me down, it was a tricky mortgage with me having adverse credit and not much time to do it in. They got me a DIP within 24hrs, sorted out every issue that cropped up, and basically babied me through the whole thing. I honestly never thought I would get a mortgage through and I can’t fault them. Yes the fee was high but for everything they did for me it was well worth it. Communication was also excellent, instant email and phone response
I have been inactive on here for years but am browsing as due to remortgage in 2026 so not a bot!

According to the FCA register, it appears to be one of a range of trading names.

Often that happens when a company wants to place a certain style of business via a certain company in the group.  Possibly to segment staff or allow different fee structures.  Simply Lending, Simply Adverse, Simply Service and Simply investment, simply commercial, Simply lending solutions, Simply specialist lending, community by simply, and more

In this case, the FCA register shows Simply Adverse is a trading style of simple investment and just one person listed.

So, it's unlikely you are going to get much in the way of info here.  its a bit like asking if people have used the butcher at the end of your road.

Nothing untoward appears but their fee is mightily heavy compared to what mortgage brokers are charging in our area.    Central London size fee perhaps or if they were rebating the proc fee and had a fixed charge but not that on top of the proc fee.

They are a real company. I know the owner, I knew him from back in the day when simply was a 2 man band. They have grown a lot in the last 10 years.

  • Thanks so much everyone - really appreciate all the replies. I have heard good reviews regarding them securing mortgages for people with not so great credit files etc and that they are very responsive with great customer service. Just the broker fee to consider but I guess worth it if they can secure a mortgage. We are looking to remortgage but affordability is tight - does anyone know if they are good in these situations? Currently on an 8.5% SVR mortgage but can't switch as it's RBOS and they have said we would have to apply to Natwest for remortgages and we defaulted on a loan with them about 8-9 years back so there is no way they would consider us.......
