cheapest xbox wireless adapter?

Im looking for a xbox 360 wireless adapter, which normally costs £60 in shops
Can you guys reccomeend me a place to buy it in store only please?

If you get one for £30 that is great but I could advertise PS3's for £50 all day but never have stock totally pointless. you cant expect other places to have them in stock for anything near the price that places clam they sell them at.

Find somewhere with stock then start trying to find them cheaper. buy on line if you want to get them at the cheap prices they are claiming.

There are 2 ways to get them free. I'm signed up for windows mobile training and they are included as a reward, you need to take training courses etc to get points build up to 3500 points and you can claim a wireless 360 adaptor. the other way is to phone microsoft and tell them "yours" has gone faulty, give them the serial number of "your" wireless adaptor and tell them the red light keeps flashing and they will send you a replacement. remember you bought it as a package with your 360 and it is still within 12 months old the store told you to contact microsoft.

To be honest, all of these are rather expensive, for what they do. I've bought similar equipment in the past for £15, with full wireless G specification.

I think the prices have inflated recently as to take advantage of the console market (who don't want to pay the original console maker the even more ridiculous price asked for their own branded equipment.)

i was gona fo for full wireless in my house, the belkin router is 30 quid and I allready have a wireless usb dongle form aldi at 11.00.The ethernet bridge will make it too expensive is there no cheaperway, ebay doesnt help either, ppl have items on sale at 0.99 but p+p of 20 odd pounds.regaj

Yes because the X Box sees it as an ethernet connection.

cheapest way would be not to use a usb adapter at all. you can pick up very simple one-port wireless routers that you can plug in to the RJ-45 port of the xbox and then connect it wirelessly to your normal router. it works pretty much the same except for a few extra wires hanging out the place; the xbox uses a normal wired conection (probably more stable than a wireless conenction handled by the xbox) and the mini router does all the hard wireless connection stuff itself.

I use FON's La Fonera for this on a number of pcs as they reguarly sell them for a few pounds or just give them away (i got 3 free a couple weeks ago). At the moment with shipping and tax i think it's about £20 - £25, but i can refer you for one for £15 shipped, or even send you one of my spare ones if i dont find a use for it soon.

the only catch is you'd have to load some custom firmware on to it and configure it a bit (which you may need a seperate pc for) but it's just a case of altering a few options in the config screen and it downloads everything it needs itself. that and you need to sign up with fon for a user account, but that just gives you free worldwide hotspot access so no downside there :money:oh and apparently the official wireless adapter doesn't support wpa2 encryption (the most secure). this would avoid that problem and it'll work with wpa2 fine.
