Morning - I've made it downstairs, it always takes longer on a Sunday as I do odd chores before coming down. Seeing daylight so early was really lovely, it brings a bit of cheer to the day.Yesterday I was unusually semi-productive. Strange beetroot and carrot concoction given some chicken stock and then blended up, still strange as the honey made it far too sweet. I added in some vinegar and left it mature overnight though not convinced that it's edible. Chicken, sweetcorn with mayo made and in the fridge. Red and yellow peppers chopped, roasted and now in the fridge. DW run and emptied. The talk on Somerled was very interesting. Times in the 12th century were certainly very troublesome, Vikings v Gaels v Scots. Lots of skirmishes and larger batttles. Intruguingly the Isle of Man was under the rule of the Vikings for a long time. Anyway...I did a little shopping on the way home (can't resist a M&S) and was home before dark.My plans for today are scant. My frail elderly neighbour in the big house turns 90 years old today so I'll go up shortly with his card and a little chocolate before various family arrive. Then I'll take my rubbish to the tip. Day done!I hope that others have an enjoyable day, not too much rain or snow. Hugs to our poorlies.11

Morning all. The sun's shining here today!
It took ages to get to sleep last night and I was still awake at 2am. I think it was because I'd had a glass of wine, but that was at lunchtime! Will have to look this up as it didn't use to affect me this way.
Meanwhile today, DH and I have decided to go out for Sunday lunch. I've booked at a pub in one of the nearby villages. We went there many years ago and it's now in different hands so I hope it's good. After that a friend has offered me a lift to the music session tonight so that was nice of her.
I have a form to fill in to be added to my dance side's bank account so should do that today plus I said I would make a lemon cake but that might have to wait a couple of days.
Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.

Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers. I hope your soup turns out ok Gers?
Hope you have a lovely lunch WL4
I'm having lunch today with a friend at the village hall - today it's roast beef.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday. x11 -
Morning all, it's dry but cold and only 7 degrees still. Yesterday I did 2 loads in the wm so they should be dry this morning and I'll put it away. Sadly I see the kestrel has taken one of our collared doves for his breakfast as there is a pile of whitish feathers at the top of the garden and Mr Fix It saw it fly off with the carcass, thankfully I missed that bit. We must be his nearest takeaway !
I'm going to strip the bed this morning, wash the bedding and then clean the bedroom before remaking the bed which might take a while as I keep stopping for a drink and a rest. Tea tonight will be minted lamb chops, roasties and veg, looking forward to that although I hope I can taste it as I seem to have misplaced my taste buds this week.
NRA hope you're recovering well.
Enjoy your Sunday and your lunches out.
Take care all, hugs to everyone in need and "Hello" to all the MIA's, please pop in and let us know that you're ok. I don't think I've seen Bella for a while either.

Morning allAwake at 6am this morning, feels like a lie in!Ironing done. Full house here today, so extras for dinner as DS wants DH to help him put a hands free kit into his new (to him) car so he and his GF and son are coming too. Sausage and mash has been requested. SimplesBack at work tomorrow after being off sick last week and my co-worker was on leave too so goodness knows what we're going back to as our new boss hasn't really taken any interest in the daily running of the place and likes to do his own thing.Have a good day all x10

Morning all
I had a really disturbed night, I woke at 3 feeling really sick and then went to the bathroom and was vomiting for a good 10 minutes 🤢 I went back to bed and then couldn’t sleep for a couple of hours, I lay in bed thinking of what I had eaten and it came to me that I had some crisps earlier in the day those bacon rasher type crisps when I looked at the packet this morning they contain rapeseed oil 🙄 I am going to have to check the packets of everything I eat I think it’s just not worth the pain afterwards.
Its a lovely bright day here wm is on with OH work clothes they can hang on the line for a while, new DW was plumbed in yesterday and we had to do an empty wash before using it properly, it’s such a relief having a working one again 😃😬 the old one is outside but a scrap man has said he will come and collect either this afternoon or tomorrow so fingers crossed he does.
Got mum coming for dinner tonight she has provided the meat which is lamb so a nice treat I will do roasties and veg with it. I also got a cheesecake for pudding but I will check the ingredients before I have any.
I was thinking the other day we have not seen Bella for a while hope she is ok x
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It looks undecided out there. The sun is trying to peep through but not trying hard enough so we just have cloud. Mist/fog was forecast but thankfully that has bypassed us.
I was wide awake at silly o'clock (nowt new there!) so gave in and got up. I put a small gammon joint on to cook for my lunch and the accompanying veg are ready and waiting to go on. Then the bed was stripped and the bedding put on to wash. Then breakfast at a sensible time before remaking the bed. The washing is festooning the upstairs with the dehumidifier on. I even emptied the water container and cleaned the filter on it first. I have now ground down to a stop and my feet are up with a mid morning mug of Bovril. It's suddenly got ridiculously expensive for some reason but I do enjoy an odd mug now and then.
I think a slothful afternoon is now on the cards with my favourite tv viewing night tonight - if I can keep awake.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up, sad or worried. Take care all and be safe xx

Good morning or it could be good afternoon everyone by the time I finish typing.
I haven't posted for a few days as real life has got in the way with several hurdles to be overcome this week.
The sun is trying to break through after a misty murky start. Towels have just finished in the washing machine but I think the tumble dryer may be in action as there doesn't appear to be much wind.
Apart from that I think it will be a lazy day, must do a freezer dive to find something for tea.
Best wishes to the poorlies, worried or sad.
Take care xx11 -
Hello everyone, just got back and had something to eat, we were freezing stood watching DGDs football team- she was too, she's a goakeeper so she's not running around like the rest of the girls. It always seems windy on their home pitch, very open to the elements. It was quite nice when we set off from here but we quickly ran into mist and when we got there could hardly see the other end of the pitch! Bit brighter now we're back home.DH has lit the log burner. After yesterdays DGS match we called in a sm and bought some pasta ready meals & soup for DS1, after having a lot of extractions on Thursday he is struggling to eat. I don't eat pasta, DH doesn't like it so it's not something I keep in. Got some slow cooked lamb for us later , but he'll be out. His car broke down last night on the way home from the next town, DH had had a glass of wine so couldn't pick him up. Someone helped him push it onto a side street so he left it there and his young lady picked him up and brought him home, they'll go back today after a walk, he thinks it's just a fuse and he had spares here, so fingers crossed that's all it is.RR, it's a pain checking labels but better than the alternative. DS2 is very sensitive to a lot of things & it became habit when he was growing up.Nan, aw poor dove- I remember one meeting the same fate on our front lawn before we moved, they are ruthless!Hope everyone has a restful Sunday, take care x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
