  • I ditched the sub for my Nest doorbell a couple of years ago.

I still get alerts if the doorbell rings, still get notifications of certain events, can still use it as a real-time camera, and can still use it as an intercom.

Given the potential DPA responsibilities if it is retaining data, I'm honestly happier that it isn't recording, and it's cheaper.

Thanks for that information MSE Molly.
My annual basic plan was to expire in July but I have just cancelled that and subscribed to a new basic annual at the current price (£34.99). An e-mail from them confirmed a £14 pro rata refund from the cancelled plan.
I reluctantly renewed when they increased it to £34.99, but this March increase is taking the p. I will most definitely not be renewing next February.
pushpull - does the Nest doorbell have an external powered chime to wirelessly connect? Sorry, too lazy to check!

  • I upgraded my Ring doorbell to eufy. No subscription fees and better quality. 2k on the doorbell. Plus can add other cameras to the ecosystem
  • Thanks for that link nic-c.
Not suitable for me, it has to be wired for power.
  • I cancelled my ring basic protect plan but when I resubscribed it still wants to charge me 4.99 a month from March 12 th.  What do I need to do to get it at £3.49 a month for the next year
  • I;ve just cancelled immediately then tried to resubscribe. The cheapest offer is £4.99 mth so I'm afraid this doesn't work.
