West Midlands Pension Fund - help!

Options
How can we raise the profile of the mess the West Midlands Pension Fund appear to be in right now? My husband had to take ill health retirement in November last year and he has heard absolutely nothing from them. We raised a complaint and were fobbed off with the 'computer  update' saga and promised that his pension quote would be prioritised - a month on still nothing! So I started googling and was outraged to discover there are people who retired in June last year who haven't received a penny yet! How can this be happening? This is a huge local authority pension fund - they still blaming an update that happened over 8 months ago! My husband is fortunate that I am still working so we can 'manage' on my income for now but what about those poor people who are not in our position. I simply can't get my head around how this has been allowed to happen and continues to happen. They keep advertising Pension roadshow for people to prepare for retirement but can't pay out the pensions of the people already retired. It is terrifying. Anybody out there with any advice. Thanks in anticipation.

The fubar that is the WMPF computer update is well known.  It looks like they are prioritising payments to those who have no other income - has your husband told them that you are currently managing on your salary?

No consolation to you, I know, but it does sound like they are making manual payments to those who need them the most.

    Complain to your MP.

Complain to City of Wolverhampton Council.

    Contact your local paper.

Keep up the pressure - the way that pensioners are being treated is little short of scandalous.
