So you missbrought your house, but were happy for the lender to help you ? 18+
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Not a lawyer, but am going to stick my neck out here and say, no, you were not mis-sold anything.

Sorry your circumstances have changed for the worse, but that's life, and you need to take responsibility for your own instead of trying on some blame/compo culture nonsense.

I assume you knew that child support would end at some point. Some people are able to increase their income as children become older in preparation for this. Using maintenance in your calculations I am guessing allowed you to borrow more than if it had not been. What would your options have been had you not chosen to have it included? smaller property or renting? Was this reduction unexpected eg ex lost job, lower paid job or had you not thought about how you would support yourself as time marched on?
  • This reminds me of when I was slated when I dared pipe up against a borrower who said she couldn't afford it but still wanted to borrow more money by taking equity from her home.  If you help her and her fellow borrowers who could not afford it, prepare to be blamed on by the same people.
