I have a debtor chasing me for £400 Tmobile phone from
2006 I cannot recall this debt its so long ago.
Please advise can they take me to court or any action if I dont pay? Thanks

If you haven't accept at any point that this is your debt then as it's exceeded the 6 years I believe they have no right to expect you to pay. Have you phoned them at all or written to them either by email or post? What has been done by which method has different consequences.
Who is chasing you? If you haven't admitted anything at all and they are writing to you, I would suggest you write back and asked them to prove you owe the money.

The debt is statute barred and cannot be enforced unless the creditor can prove that they have actively been trying to trace you for said debt this whole time and you attempted to thwart such activities.

Who is this "creditor" chasing you for money, I assume you mean a debt collector?
We have a "provit letter" you can send in response to this, you can find it in the stickie section of this forum.
