Default removal

I recently switched phone providers from Vodafone to 02, transferring the number etc. I received a letter from debt collectors saying I owed £18, which I paid immediately, but I now have a default on my credit file. Vodafone sent me an email that went to my junk folder, but made no other attempt to chase me (on the mobile number they obviously had for me) for the outstanding £18 and the first I heard of it was the letter from the debt collectors! Does anyone know if there is anything I can do?

Exhaust Vodaphone's complaints procedure, and if no luck, seek out ombudsmen services that deal with Vodaphone, and escalate to them.
You may also need to involve ICO to remove default, but that can only be done if it it was added in error.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
