If Im on a 25K salary, how do I work out the day rate?
Do I divide it by 364? or divide by the amount of weekdays in a year maybe?

I would divide by 260 which is the number of working days, assuming you work 5 days a week.

Or stick it into a take-home pay calculator which will give monthly, weekly, daily, hourly pay on a gross and net basis etc.
Divide by 260 is the norm0 -
For daily pay, for each year you could divide by the number of weekdays in the year.
For this, 260 is often used as the divisor.
You divide by that figure as you are paid for the days you work and your holidays and the assumption is that you work 5 days a week.0 -
Only if you work 364 days...!user67340348 said:If Im on a 25K salary, how do I work out the day rate?

Otherwise, assuming you work five days a week, divide your annual salary by 52 (weeks of the year), then divide that by 5 days a week (which is how you get to the 260 cited above), giving you a day rate of £96.15.
Just a thought...in case you're asking the question to try and work out a baseline for some self employed/freelance work, it needs to be at least 30% more than you're earning as an employee to cover lost benefits such as paid holiday, pension etc.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
