Thanks for starting us off nmlc. It's on the mild side of freezing this morning, unlike the forecast for the rest of the week.My exercise class was very good, a little tough on my dodgy legs but I adapted every so often. I took away the bulging bag of recycling material and two glass jars. Before I left I'd prepared my lunch so it only needed heating up. Then I did a little 'management' of papers. This morning I have an appoinment in Glasgow so will be heading off soon. Yesterday large tracts of road were under water, passable with care so I'm hoping that the majority of it will have drained away overnight. I've got a Boots order to collect when down in Glasgow and will pick up some fridge stuff.I hope that everyone is doing well. Keep warm and safe.10

Morning folks. The gusty wind is still blowing but that's set to be replaced by heavy rain next. And then there is the snow to look forward to (not) come Thursday. What weather we are having.
I stuck to my guns and defrosted the tall freezer yesterday. I got into the usual soggy mess! It's outside the kitchen door at the top of the few steps down into the garage and, as usual, I managed to flood the steps! The small freezer is at the base of the said steps but that's been left for another day. I was cold, wet and fed up! There were quite a few baked potatoes slotted wherever there was a small gap so I thought I had better start eating them and left one out for my tea with tuna mayo.. The rest are bagged up together where I can see them.
It's supposed to be lunch with DF today so will see if it happens. She can often cancel short notice due to problems with DH or some ailment or other she has succumbed to. Consequently I don't start getting ready until the last minute! I hope it happens as I am in need of a good natter.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies (human or doggy), sad, worried or lonely. Take care all be safe xx ps safe drive to Glasgow GERS.x

Well it’s still blowing a hoolie here in the Midlands - and snow forecast for later in the week. Seems there’s always a weather alert in the past or in the forecast at the moment.Thankfully B-dog’s eyes are already much better after the prescribed antibiotic eye drops and he was very brave at the vets (the vets words! 😂) and is a model patient when applying the drops.Off to my part time job today for a change. No other plans yet - will see what happens.Hope everyone stays safe

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It looks as if it's rained a bit overnight, and the forecast for the next few days is not good, though sometimes it's not as bad as predicted .
I was going to go out yesterday but didn't, so I'll nip out today, just to our High street.
Not a lot going on today, we'll go out tonight, back to our usual Tuesday evening quiz.
Hope your trip to GLasgow goes well Gers.
Take care everyone, have a good day.13 -
Morning allBeen off work sick for the past 2 days. Feeling rotten and coughing and spluttering everywhere. Had a half hearted sort out of my wardrobe yesterday for something to do. Vacuumed packed some of my big woolies so the weather will take an icy turn as I've jinxed it now although we're not forecast snow down in Kent! We're going on a very belated big birthday/anniversary holiday in a couple of weeks to the Caribbean so might sort a few things out for that in between coughing bouts. Other than that I might catch up on some tv shows. I've just discovered a channel that plays old Steptoe and Son shows so might watch a couple of those. Trouble is laughing starts me coughing!Hope everyone else is doing well and hugs for those that are not.Take care x13

Morning all
It seems very cold here this morning and very windy I have put the heating on for an hour or so. Yesterday I waited and waited for Robs taxi to drop him off after 20 minutes I started to phone his mum and got no answer, I waited an hour and was just heading out to go to his house ( I had visions of her having fallen and Rob not being able to summon help) when she called back to say he would not be coming as he had been up till 5 that morning, she had let him sleep till 4 Sunday afternoon so it’s not surprising he did not sleep all night, she also let him sleep till 2 yesterday afternoon so when I called her last night she said he would not be coming today either, I told her to get him up at 9 this morning to try and get him back into a routine.🙄
So I just have the two coming today and we had planned a walk but I will see if they still want to go in this weather, they are quite hardy so I think they probably will.
Dinner tonight will be cold meat and mash and peas the meat is left from Xmas so I need to get it out of the freezer, dd is working late so just OH and I here for dinner.
I need to have a quick tidy through before my guests come.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning all. Very windy here and our green bin has already blown over and the screw holding the lid in place on one side has broken. Hopefully DH can fix it later as the new bins are smaller so I'd like to hang on to our original one.
We had a nice short walk yesterday and lunch at a newish coffee place that has spring up by MK Marina. It did have the feel of a student place, with lots of young people on laptops, but I guess that's working from home nowadays.
Today we have someone coming to hopefully replace the sensors so our garage door works properly again. I also have a dentist appointment to get my new crown fitted so am planning pasta and sauce for dinner; not very exciting, or filling, but might want to protect my crown for a few days.
Hope everyone has a good day.12 -
Morning! Wow, that's a bit windy..recycling has been picked up so I had to go out and get the bag before it blew away. Plans today are fetch my loaf of rye bread and stop off at Boots for some contact lens stuff and maybe go into Currys and hae a look at the tv's. My one is definitely showing signs of disrepair so a small recce won't hurt. I originally got it off gumtree for fifty quid so it hasn't done bad over the years. There is some washing to do, probably two loads and OH has the next two days off so he can write his stuff...Shame it's not less windy, I was all psyched up to do some gardening. I suppose I could still just go and get some compost and big pots for the two trees I need to repot/move.Gers, well done for braving the excercise class and safe travels! TA, well done for defrosting the freezer, never a fun job...fingers crossed for df participation today
Allie, he was a brave soldier then
Scarlet, enjoy the quiz. Chris, hope it goes away soon, the lurgy that is...Ruby, it amazes me how some people manage ot raise children sometimes..Wl, happy new crown day
Redcross, happy belated big birthday. We can do a growing seeds off if you like, like a dance off, but less physical
nanny, hope you're doing ok...Izzy, less than 20 days to go! Take care all...dont get blown away..

Morning all, horrible morning here.Very wet and windy, it was an even shorter dog walk than usual earlier. There is plenty of chicken left from last night, DH felt a bit off when we got back from collecting DGS from school so he just had a sandwich much later on. I've taken some fish out for later, so will either use the chicken tomorrow after the school run , or freeze it. I actually used the oven to cook it- one of those in a bag with garlic and herbs . I was panicking as we were later home than expected due to DS finishing off on a job, but it was fine. Which reminds me to do my O delivery order in a mo, to use my delivery midweek pass! The hospice shop rang to arrange the collection but they can't come until next Monday so we have various furniture dotted around. DS new mattress isn't ready until then either so the rooms are still a bit in limbo, never mind,it means I can perhaps get a few more things to add to the collection. I did some craft stuff culling yesterday so want to carry on with that. Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, it's a dark and wet day here so I'm glad I ran my errands yesterday. We don't have to go out today as DGD's date for tea with us has been cancelled because DD has Covid again poor thing, that's the 3rd or 4th time. I don't want to catch it with all the hospital stuff I have going on. Bless her DGD had already decided on her menu, all her favourites and this would have been a time when she would come without her DB tagging along as he's on a school skiing trip in Italy this week. I'll have to have a look in the freezer for something else for tea now so I may as well sort it out too. How does that messy elf get in ?
Have a good day, stay safe warm and dry if you can.
Take care all
