Thanks @fatbelly. I think I'll start saving and when I've put aside enough, I'll stop paying PRA and see what they do. I'll come back to the forum for further advice. Really appreciate your help. I did talk to my partner though and he's worried that bailiffs will come knocking. Could that happen?

Bailiffs only happen if the case is successfully sued in court AND you fail to keep up any payments and a bit more.

In reality, taking you to court costs money and they know you'd challenge it, so very unlikely to bother. Won't stop them suggesting that if you don't pay they might take you to court, they might win and you might have to pay an affordable sum. It's just a suggestion, you know.

If you are worried you could always pay them a reduced amount before stopping interest of the full amount, that would help you save quicker.

If the CCA doesn't have your details on it I don't see how it can be valid, the whole point of it is to show who is obliged to pay the debt.

Even if they did start court action it's unlikely they would do it before June, they'd probably run through their standard threat and discount letters first.

Yes I think that's good. One stage at a time.

Tell you partner he'worried about stage 10 and you're only at stage 1

Hello @fatbelly. I just wanted to pop an update. I sought advice from a solicitor that has successfully represented clients who were taken to court by PRA. They assured me that IF PRA do try to take court action, they would assist me. I'm hoping PRA won't do that and will cut their losses. I've already paid back £8k,  just over 50% of the original debt.

I stopped paying PRA a few months ago. They have called me everyday, offered me 20% discounts, sent letters and texts. I'm just ignoring them now and playing the long game.

Thanks for your advice and others who have also contributed x
