Outstanding balance

Options
Hi all,

I am hoping I can get some advice please

i received a letter from Lowell saying I owe T-Mobile 20.87 they say they will keep writing to me, calling or pass my details to a third party collection agency

i I haven’t been in contact with T-Mobile since 2013 weren’t even sure about any outstanding balance

Is it the same procedure with credit cards etc, that after 6years they can’t chase you for any debt ?

any info appreciated

thanks

  • Ignore them, they are trying it on in the hopes you will fall for it and pay.

If you haven't paid for 6 years then it is statute barred plus  they won't do anything that costs them money for a debt of £20
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

This is a prime example of when the standard debt collection template letter starts to get a tad farcical, when they threaten worlds end for £20 !!!!

The debt is statute barred, they know it, we all know it, and for £20, all you`ll get is the odd letter.

If they get annoying send the statute barred letter and tell them to grow up.

It's going to cost them over £1 per letter to chase a debt of £20. Let them keep writing and dent their profits.
  • Thanks for the replies much appreciated

Wow - times are clearly hard for Lowell! 😂 I would definitely let them keep writing though - the feeling of satisfaction knowing that each letter is costing them money would be huge! 😂

This really made me laugh. They probably paid 50p for it and they are trying to make out that they will be giving you the amount you pay them. I'd put that in a frame :)

  • 91 pence for 12 months.   wonder if they'll consider 12 pence for 91 months?
