Again, can't see the point and it's going to slow everything down.
You can only have one Breathing Space per year. Save it in case you need it0 -
Breathing space, another white elephant, 60 days of no creditor contact, its all a bit lame to be honest, standard collection activity might include a few calls and letters, and can go on for months, if you can handle ignoring phone calls, and binning stupid letters, you don`t really need breathing space.BlueManc10 said:They’ve said I could apply for breathing space in the meantime? Is this worthwhile? Sounds quite scary but I guess the whole thing is
It was initially meant to be 6 months, but got watered down to 2, not much use in the scale of things, when you consider a creditors usual run of collection letters can take 6 or 8 months before they sell your debt on, its just a waste of everyone`s time in my opinion.
There`s nothing to be scared of in debt management, you do what you have to do, then arrange a payment schedule, job done, its just a business transaction, your setting up an arrangement, not stealing the crown jewels, its all a very simple, well worn process that creditors are well used too.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I got a PAYG sim card & put it into an old handset, then changed my number on all the creditors websites to that before I stopped payments. It was rarely turned on, so all they got was voicemail, and it meant I didn't get hassled with persistent phone calls.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Good idea. I was just going to block the numbers as they came through but suppose this is easier.Floss said:I got a PAYG sim card & put it into an old handset, then changed my number on all the creditors websites to that before I stopped payments. I've blocked PRAs number. The problem with that is that although the phone won't ring, they can still leave answerphone messages.0

But the beauty of using an old handset is that they don't need to be answered / listened to. And I'm darned if I'm going to pay to listen to their voicemails!Rob5342 said:I've blocked PRAs number.
