Optimum Prepaid Mastercard. Account - XXXXXXXXXX

Options
I got this email & not sure what’s it about.  Looks like a scam email but not sure if it was an old win or something new that ended in my spam bin

Dear Customer,

We have an important reminder regarding your Optimum Prepaid Mastercard account.

As per our previous email to you, we will be closing the Optimum Programme on 21st February 2024(note that this date has been changed to ensure that our customers have enough time to remove funds from their accounts).

What does this mean for my remaining balance?

Any outstanding balance on the Card will remain yours for a period of six years from the card expiry date. We recommend that you contact our dedicated refunds Customer Services team (customer.service@edenred.com) at your earliest convenience, who will advise what is required to process a bank transfer refund free of charge. Please be advised, your refund may take up to 90 days to be processed.

Applying for a refund:

  • We will require a PDF copy of a recent bank statement (dated in the last 3 months) for your alternative bank account if you hold a balance up to £500 - please send this via email (service@edenred.com) so that your statement can be verified. Please be advised that if the name belonging to your alternative bank account does not match our files, we have a right to reject your request.
  • If you hold a balance of £500 and over, we will require a PDF copy of a recent bank statement (dated in the last 3 months), as well as one other form of ID from the list below:

To ensure there are no delays, we kindly ask that you ensure your details (such as your postal address and contact details) on file are correct. You can check this by logging into your MyAccount portal, and if changes are required this can also be done here.

Account fees:

Please be advised that as long as a balance remains on your account from 21st February 2024your Monthly Management Fee will continue to be charged to your account, at the usual rate of £1.99.

To avoid this monthly fee charged to your account, we encourage you to use up your balance before the closure date as set out above or request a refund.

Please contact customer.service@edenred.comwhere our agents will be able to answer any questions you may have on the closure.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being an Optimum customer.

Kind regards

Optimum Prepaid Mastercard Team

Doesn’t look like a scam to me, it isn’t asking for any details.

You need to log into your Optium account and withdraw any funds on your prepaid card. http://www.myoptimumcard.co.uk/

  • "Dear Customer" always looks suspicious though as they don't know the name - and they are asking for scanned bank statements and scans of ID etc. I'd say approach with caution.

Edenred is a workplace retail benefits platform, so did you opt for one of these cards via that platform?
