Working in holidays = more tax??

Just a quick q. I work in a school, so of course get 12 weeks off a year. I wanted to make the most of this and try and get a job that would be ok with me only working in the school holidays. I used to work at center parcs, but they couldn't let me just work school holidays, i had to work every Saturday, which just proved too much.
Any companies do you think that could let people only work during school holidays? I know having a contract saying this is difficult.
Im from Australia and used to work for an out of school care club, which worked on the process of we were called to see if we could work a certain day at any club close by or maybe if we could work a week etc and we could say yes or no. Anything like that exist?
And the big q, would all this affect my tax bracket? Im on £15,000 a year with my school job, which is 32.5 hr week, plus a 2nd job at the school at 5 hrs a week, but only get paid term time only for that.
Any ideas or thoughts, please let me know...

IIWY I'd ring round local agencies and register for temp. work in the school holidays, there's allsorts of agencies depending on what you want to do.
If you work for another employer your taxed more, you can always ask inland revenue office the ins and outs of that though to make sure it's worth your while. hope that helps you.0 -

I would second the temp agency idea.
Regarding tax, I would hazard a guess that you would pay basic rate tax on all your earnings in your "holiday" work for an agency. It is unlikely you would move into the 40% bracket. If you did, this would need to be sorted out at the end of the year and would only apply to the amount above the threshold for paying the higher rate income tax.
You would also be required to pay NI contributions if your weekly pay were above the threshold for NI.0 -
Have you asked your local council if they run summer play schemes - usually about £6.50 an hour during the summer holidays and as you already work for them, that should make things easier re CRB checks etcIf you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!0

Barracudas run easter/summer holiday camps and need activity leaders and admin roles. See their recruitment page.

Thanks so much for the posts. I found a great site for my county that had daycare centres plus holiday clubs listed etc. Sent a few letters and CVs off, so will wait to hear back. Also finally got in contact with an add at my school to work with a family 1 day a week, helping take care of the children, is only school holidays and like i said 1 day a week, but it may just be a foot in the door leading to work with other families.
Oramgepekoe thats so much for the post, the website is great and is just what i am looking for. Unfortunately all the sites are miles away from me, however some have accommodation, so it wont hurt to apply and state i need accommodation as couldn't travel everyday.
Thanks again...Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
