Claiming underpaid pension for deceased mother/widow

Over 3 years ago I filled in an online form to see if my mother who was deceased had been paid the correct amount of pension when she became a widow - as the government where investigating these underpayments. I have never heard any thing back from them about my request, the form was filled in on the government website. I read the information that said as the deceased daughter and executor to her will I was able to make a claim/enquiry. I am not sure if I should contact them or wait, I know there has been a long investigation but I would have thought they would send an acknowledgment of my request. Has anyone else had the same issue?

I completed the form over a year ago but don't expect to hear anything for several more years. This will be a collosal task.1

I've been waiting what will be 2 years in July for my Dad regarding my deceased Mum. I've seen others waiting this long. Whether it is the norm who knows. I guess those alive now take priority.1

I've finally had responses from DWP relating to my mother and my mother-in-law, both who are deceased. Initial requests to review were made in March 2021 and since then I have only received a response by way of the probate/letters of administration being returned with just a handwritten compliments slip, and a subsequent very curt response to a chased for an up date. Both final responses say there has been no underpayment, but are very vague. Has anyone else experienced this, and I wondered if there is any way of challenging the findings or asking for more detail?0

What do your calculations show they were underpaid by?stoozerswitch said:I've finally had responses from DWP relating to my mother and my mother-in-law, both who are deceased. What evidence do you have they were underpaid ? The pension annual award letter is a good starting point.

Wasn't it Martin Lewis who urged every woman over a certain age (or their families) to put in a claim 'just in case' ?molerat said:Dazed_and_C0nfused said:

Then it's up to you to provide evidence as to why you believe there to be an underpayment.stoozerswitch said:I've finally had responses from DWP relating to my mother and my mother-in-law, both who are deceased.
