Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Yesterday the rain poured and the rain howled all day, I seemed to be out in it a lot of the time as the school gate is locked and I have to go and let folk in. Didn't help that one of our customers decided he wanted to go home and I had to follow him about the playground until his Dad arrived. The brolly I was using blew away so that's in the bin!
Hospital appoiontment went well, don't need to go back for 6 months thank goodness.
Eyebrows sorted and a haircut tomorrow so I'll be all smart!
Well done taff, keep going!
Your biscuits sound interesting Gers.
Good luck at your appointment today Nanny.
Hope your little dog is better Izzy.
Hoping you had a better night snoozer.
Take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Apparently a dry day in store, with no wind. We'll see! Sorry to have been a hit and miss poster this week. I think the January blues caught up with me on the last lap. A new month now so trying to be positive, telling myself Spring is slowly on its way with better days to come.
I had a good day out with bus buddy yesterday, Skipton again! Very few market stalls had bothered to set up and it was very quiet everywhere. Even the pub where we have our lunch was very quiet so we could natter away in peace.
Just as we were heading back to the bus station a strong wind got up, followed by heavy rain which we just managed to avoid. In their wisdom the bus company had put on a single decker bus which was rammed with school kids so it was standing room only and it had to leave quite a few folk waiting for the next bus.
I have neglected various jobs this week so today I must play catch up a bit. What a fun day.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. I'll be thinking of you today NAN. I hope the appointment goes as well as it can. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all
Didn’t get to post yesterday but had a lovely day out in Wales walking with friends - we did however nearly get blown off our feet on the tops, it wasn’t cold but my it was gusty!Currently have tea and watching the sky a lovely pink and lilac - there seem to have been some cracking sunrises recently.
I’ve got an unusual 6 days off from my part time/casual job so might actually get on top of my to-do list without completely exhausting myself - a combination of chores and craft shop work.Have a good day

As a missing friend here used to post - pinch punch, first of the month. All is calm outside again, yesterday was foul. Just after I arrived home at 10.00am the rain and wind ramped up.The biscuits weren't a huge success, to be expected as I used the wrong ingredient. Whilst I'm out I'll buy ground almonds for a proper bake, and I'll halve the amount of sugar too. This morning I'm going to my pool class so back to my routine, it's been a long haul since October.I read the other day that we now have 100 more minutes of light than at the winter solstice, thank goodness. There's clumps of tiny wee snowdrops peeking through long grass and soggy ground. They are always a joy, Spring is on the way. 😀
Hugs to our poorlies.11 -

Dry here and the potential for some sun later ! I am off to collect Rob this morning and take him to work, I collected him yesterday and had trouble getting my car into gear all the way back to work, I have had a long ongoing argument with the garage I bought it from with me saying the clutch is going and them saying it’s fine 😡 we’ll it appeared to go completely yesterday and I was stuck at work with Rob and a car that I couldn’t drive, I had an appointment Friday to get it looked at but I called them and they said to bring it in today instead, I lost my temper at this point because the car is not drivable and I had a person with a severe LD and autism with me and they wanted me to drive on the motorway !I think they could hear in my voice that I was not having any of it so they arranged a pick up truck to come and collect us and the car and drive us to the garage where they magically had a courtesy car waiting for me ( despite them saying there was not one available) so I have left the car with them for them to investigate and they will call me, they did say that they can’t guarantee it will be done under the extended warranty that I purchased and it might be just wear and tear to which I said really ? The car has done 20k miles and was not driven for over a year while I had my cancer treatments ! I can feel a fight coming on with the garage but I am determined to get it fixed under warranty and a refund for the £150 they charged me to investigate the problem and found nothing ! Rob loved the whole adventure though so that’s something 😂
Dinner tonight will be a chicken and mushroom risotto that’s assuming I don’t get a call from the garage asking me to collect my car, I have put a wash on this morning which can go on the airer.
Good luck at your appointment today Nan Xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, dry atm but boy did it put some rain down early evening.DS2 messaged when we were on the way to school for DGS and asked us to nip to Mr T for a few bits after, I got soaked just coming out, and managed to get my feet wet in a large puddle. Anyway DGS loved his 2 nights away with school, he said the activities were great & went on from morning till night but the food was awful! I got a lovely wave/grin when he spotted me as he got off the coach. We didnt have the meatballs, too late back home, I just got some quick bits in T.More furniture shifting, & the last bit of painting today before the carpet fitter tomorrow. Taff well done with your tip run, I need to get more ruthless...Nan best of luck with your appointment today.Ruby, hope you get answers re your car.Right up and at 'em, have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
The sun is shining this morning and just a bit of a breeze. Yesterday was wild - I decided to get the bus down the hill to pick little one up from school - well I thought I was going to take off! The bus stop is on a road next to fields, on top of a hill, there was one point when I was holding onto the bus stop pole - I must have looked ridiculous. Never mind, the bus arrived just as the hailstones started.
I booked flights to visit eldest DD in Nuremberg in August - it seemed to take ages comparing Newcastle and Edinburgh, they're both the same distance from me but Newcastle is easier to get to, I eventually got a good price sorted flying to and from Newcastle. Both flights are at 11.30 in the morning, so no airport hotel to pay for.
I haven't been for 2 years, last year we met in Croatia instead, so it will be lovely.
Then younger DD asked if I wanted to go to London in the Easter holidays with her and little one. I'm going to have to try to spend as little as possible for the next few months, but of course I said yes.
This morning I have a couple of jobs to do then work at lunchtime. I'll have little one to collect from school again - DD is usually home by 4pm and gives me a lift back up the hill so it works out well.
I'm rambling so I'll get on.
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all; the sun's shining here atm.
Busy day yesterday as we were asked to collect DGS from school, which is a 20 minute drive away, as both parents were busy. We got parked there ok but it was a bit chaotic trying to leave, as several parents turned up at the last minute and then just left their cars in the middle of the small car park. We will know another time and maybe park elsewhere. We then took him to his house and were there for about an hour, as DD got held up coming back, so we had a bit of a rush to get home and eat as DH had to get changed and then drive down to Dunstable for a Scout event. I was then caught up in the M1 roadworks last night, which made me much later home than usual.
Today I have ironing to do and DH is going to pop out for some shopping. Must remember to do a birthday card for my cousin too.
Hope everyone's day goes well.10 -
Just popping in to say hope your appointment goes well nan x

Morning! Well, I thought we were going at eleven, she thought we were going at one, so went at one and I had more tea to wake up Quite successful shop, lots of meat to parcel up for the freezer so the only thing I will have to buy is chicken. And we won't need any of that for a bit. So on the way back in the car [ after filling with cheaper petrol, more success] I ended up offering to cook risotto to go with the chicken she'd bought, so we had chicken and mushroom risotto last night [ snap Ruby!] in the end. I'm fetching some sourdough loaves today, I ordered them from a mini bakery near OHs mums, so I have one to drop off for her, and one for a friend, I just got them to try because we don't really have those sorts of bakeries round here, we just have standard. I also got myself a loaf of rye bread because I love a bit of that. I am intending doing as little as possible today though after that...Nanny, fingers crossed for a positive meeting today. camelot, that does not sound like fun...customers though? are they not pupils any more? Gers, happy class attending! Allie, good to know you're not a walk up a hill in Wales wearing flip flops kind of person I used to live quite near a place where people had to be rescued all the time for idiocy. Ruby, I am ready with towels and buckets of water in your corner...Rosy, enjoy almost finished decorating and next time, tell DS2 to go himself dp1, life is short, might as well go! WL, it's the curse of schools, selfish parking parents....Take care all, it's not too bad out here today, cold but actualy sunny, still, wrap up though eh?Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...7
