Overpaying and funding source

Not naming the  bank at the moment but we have tried to make an overpayment of £15k. This was from my mother in law from an iss. The bank seem to be being very awkward in this asking for funding source statements which I get. The ISA was an online isa where the bank don’t provide a statement as such only online. The bank won’t accept a screenshot of this. Is this usual with banks or are they being awkward. ?

Sounds very strange. Normally you just send the money to the mortgage company and all is well.

Did go from this account directly to the mortgage? It's possible It's been flagged as the account name differs from the mortgage holder's

With that sum of money they'll be required to do money laundering checks, as the money was not historically in the OPs account they need to show where it did come from.

They are not being awkward, they are undertaking their responsibility on behalf of HMT.  Ask them what they will accept, a letter from MILs ISA provider?
