No, they are behind events on this one, seems they had been instructed to collect your outstanding payment of £85.23.
Likely instructed before it defaulted, ignore them, they are not relevant any longer.
Remember, only respond to letters, never emails.

I didn't realise about only letters not emails, thanks.
I'm just worried about missing the one that I need to respond to! and unsure when and who to offer a small payment to moving forward.0 -
When a debt defaults, it often gets sold, not always but most of the time.
To legally ask you to pay a debt, the company must write to you, yes they will try calls and emails first as its quick and cheap, but to comply with legislation, they have to write to you.
They must also state the amount they are chasing, and who the original creditor was.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Now they have sent me a letter containing 'Important information - please do not ignore this letter' but it basically says contact us so we can help, they're giving 3 options, pay in full, talk to them, or say why I'm not liable for the debt.
Should I now get in touch with them and explain about doing a dmp and offer an amount I can afford to repay? or do I wait for a 'letter before action'?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.0 -
can you afford anything to pay, you say you can, depends if you have saved up an emergency pot first, have you
letter before action could be over a year or many months away in theory. and at that point you could offer them a repayment planChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

well as it's your first letter , you can expect more to come, that gives you time to get car battery and a basic washing machine id say
beko machines are good and last ages and get a battery from a car motor factor, never a dealer
ps you sure it isn't alternator fault or something draining battery, batteries last 5 to 7 yearsChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

Thanks I'll look at Beko, and yes, my car is 2007 and I've had it 6 years without changing the battery so its probably due.

it depends on how apprehensive you feel and also how much emergency pot you have, I've never heard on mse stories of creditors going straight to a letter before action straight after a default.
usually it's letter after letter, then of course you still can respond to a letter before action with indeed a repayment offer at that pointChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )
