Just need some advice. I have a payment on going with moorcroft for £33 for two credit cards which defaulted about 7 years ago done by my other half who is not with me anymore but cards in my name. Also one pay day loan 2019 years ago for a small amount that was settled. The defaults dont show on my records but foolishly i have put a reference on my bank statement that says moorcroft and a reference number, so will be questioned by underwriter (kicking myself now). Is it acase i will need to go with an adverse lender or not, based on anyones personal experience as alot of high street lenders state state :

"If you've taken a payday loan in the last 2 years or in the last 6 years you've had late payments on credit commitments, had a default or County Court Judgement (CCJ), been bankrupt, entered into an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) or debt management plan or had a property repossessed please tick yes"

Reading that i would say no but dont wont to start the process off once i found somewhere then get rejected straight away, even though it is seven years or so since default and not within 6 years as that seem to imply

Unfortunately i would have my ducks in row a bit better mid year but the landlord has served notice on me out of the blue so have to be out in 4-5 months or earlier

Cheers

You wont need a specialist lender. But you might be best using a broker just to help you navigate towards the lenders who are most likely to accept you.

Some lenders do not ask for bank statements depending on the case specifics (LTV, employment type etc), some lenders wont mind even if they do see it. But some definitely will.

    You should be fine.
