  • HI, just checked on Gov Gateway, which has given me an estimate up to April 2023 of £185.60. My last GP credits were awarded this January. Hope that helps make sense.

I have deleted my last post as in light of what you have now posted it was utter rubbish :)
I don't know where they got "5 years to pay back" from because I got it from assumptions, they had the information in front of them and that shows the final year will only give 78p.  (The assumption was the number of pre 2016 years held which would decide whether the starting amount came under the old or new system, yours was under the new system as the COPE deduction was still not enough to go below the old scheme amount) You currently have £185.60, £18.25 short of the max or 3.1 years.  3 years will take you to £203.07, 78 p short of the max so it is probably not worth buying the 4th year.
I assume that 21-22 i part filled with GP credits so will only cost you £184.80 ?
  • Hello, sorry just seen your comment, babysitting at the moment. Handfull! Both hands!!

Yes 21/22 will only cost 184.80.
22/23 GP was credited in full. That will give me two more years.

So I just need to purchase two more. Thinking 2018/19 and 2019/20.
    ??

  • Went back to DWP, very helpful this time. Agreed the purchase of 21/22, part filled with GP credits.
Then the other two years, 2016/17 and 2006/07- This was apparently better as I haven't had 30 qualifying years before 2016, and gave more than 2019/20 originally chosen.  Brings it up to £203.08 and sorted with HMRC.
Thanks to all for helping, your time and effort is much appreciated.
