Morning.
The butteries I bought yesterday afternoon were yummy, not exactly the same taste as the originals but still delicious, just no lard. I also got a cinnamon bun, the cafe makes large ones so it does two portions. Buns / cakes made with yeast are a real favourite of mine.
I'm off shortly down to Glasgow for an appointment later this morning. Apart from that and a little bit of shopping I won't be hanging around.
Hugs to our poorlies.

Morning All
Breezy but dry out at the moment, the bedding is in the WM and I'll hang it out for a while when it's done. I put a small load out yesterday that only needed airing when I brought it in.
I'm slowly feeling better, the antiBs seem to be doing their job, managed a day without paracetemol yesterday but nearly caved in around 4pm. Not sure if it's those or the dose of cough medicine I took but I've had a bit of a dicky tummy so will be a brave soldier!
I must go out today for supplies, all too easy to stay in and fester. I was going to go to DS1s today as it's DGS's birthday this week and I have his present here but I think it would be a bit silly - he'll have to wait for his present sadly.
Hope your appointment went well Nanny.
Glad you're feeling pain free Gers, safe trip to Glasgow. What a treat getting your favourite buns.
Glad you all enjoyed the graduation Coxy.
Bet you bagged some bargains TA!
Hope you're feeling more settled today snoozer.
How's the recovery going NRA?
Hope you all have a good weekend, take care. XX9 -
Morning all. Dry but dull here so far.
Cheesecake got made yesterday and is now in the fridge. Today I have to make a chilli then they both have to be driven an hour to a friend's house ready for tonight's party. It's an annual event and always popular.
Gers: I had to look up Butteries but they were described as a cross between a roll and a croissant, so sound delicious.
We have a monthly Repair Cafe starting up in town today so might take a stroll up and see what it's like.
Happy Saturday everyone.9 -
Morning! Dull and grey but not raining and not windy
Off out to lunch with friends, followed by a mooch around charity shops. Nothing is on the to buy list, I do need to find my poaching pan so I can give it to a friend who apparently has tried everything but has never heard of a poaching pan...I rarely have them and if I do, I do it in swirly water so she can have mine. I made my version of kedgereee yesterday so we have that for breakfast/supper and I did the washing so that doesn't need doing. We are binge watching Ted Lasso. Loving it!
Camelot, it's not festering, it's recovering! Gers, they sound lovely and also naughtydp1, how fantastic for your dd, it sounds very interesting! nanny, good luck for the journey, that place is a nightmare to get to down that street and there's never any close by parking once you get in unless you're really lucky, or you go when it's quiet. It;s an odd place too, everyone knows what you've got when you go there, it's not like other hospitals, it's part of a club. Izzy, hope all was well with your doggie..WL, we have them here too, very useful. Enjoy your party! SO, hope you're managing to pounce on weary travellers and shock them with your hello's...j/k, but I do hope you're getting out a bit and the therapist is helping..I'm not a great poster child for change but lately, I have actually been doing more thinking that I have in previous years, regarding change and the if you do nothing different, nothing will change, whether that's personal development or outside forces...so I just wanted to say, hang in there...in a rambly fashion....take care peeps...

Morning everyone
I was very late getting up this morning, I did wake up about 8 and started listening to a podcast and dozed back off. It was interesting, so I'll listen to it again while I do my ironing. Eldest DD told me to listen to it - it was about the right-wing party in Germany, there was a huge rally against them last weekend in Nuremberg - she said there were so many people marching down the street where she lives.
I have a few jobs to do this morning and then DD will drop little one off after lunchtime, as she's working a later shift today. We're going to see Wonka this afternoon, little one is very excited as some of her friends at school have already seen it. Then she'll stay with me tonight.
Glad to hear you're starting to feel better Camelot.
Hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Morning all, brr it's back to cold today and still only 4 degrees. The weather yesterday was lovely sunshine but the journey to the hospital was a nightmare with cone city down the A road, so one lane shut on the dual carriageway and then a smash up on the M4 so everything was backed up for miles, luckily we had left 2hrs to get there but it was still an "on the edge of your seat" journey. The oncologist was happy with Mr Fix It even though his cancer cells had risen a bit so he will get a phone review in 3 months. We called in the chippy on the way home as my nerves were still too on edge to cook anything 😉
Not sure what today will bring as I'm a bit tired and have no energy, I'll see if I can rouse myself later.
Hope the poorlies are feeling a bit better.
Take care all
nan xx

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Mmmmm those butteries sound rather yummy! Safe journey (and back) to Glasgow.
Good but tiring trip round all the supermarkets yesterday with DD, just buying bits and pieces for the fridge and store cupboard on the way, but nothing frozen! But sadly I fell at the final hurdle! You know me too well! DD suggested an onward journey to the Company Shop as we haven't been in ages. And got there just in time to see them stocking up the end fridge area where the bestest bargains are! I couldn't resist some Little Dovecote rather posh burgers at 4 for £1.50. Well two packs somehow jumped in my trolley, and I never eat burgers!! So they are now in the freezer, along with some bacon lardons and brie portions I also pounced on! I am a lost cause!
You know when you say something you bitterly regret!! Cast your mind back to when DGD brought that mountain of stuff from her uni digs and got dumped in my garage. After much wittering she finally came yesterday afternoon to try and sort it out. There were numerous bags of clothes and boxes of books which I said would end up damp and mildewed if left out there much longer. I said I would wash the clothes, bedding and towels and hang them all in the back (unused) wardrobe. I miscalculated how many bags of clothes were out there! I am now on to the 4th washer load and I reckon there must be at least another 4 or 5 washes to go!! It's the drying that will be the bugbear this miserable weather so I think I will have the washing and drying going on all week with the dehumidifier going non-stop! I'm not even going to watch the smart meter whilst I feel to be running a launderette!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better, sad or lonely. Take it slowly CAMELOT you can't rush convalescence. NAN good to hear Mr Fix It's review went as well as it could. COXY I hope the USA move comes to nothing. Take care all be safe xx

Morning everyone been shopping called at the library and took a jigsaw and a couple of books to the charity shop then called at the pet shop for some dog treats it’s me that needs treating Taff after all the urgency about how urgent it was she had to have this scan it turns out she has a very slight heart murmur of course that was £575 later plus £125 for a blood test they have to do before they can do anything then he charged us £75 for tablets she has to have half a one a day but he then said if she’s fine on these it will be cheaper to get them online that was good of him I looked they are £ 24 she goes in 10 days to have her teeth cleaned £795 an estimate this is why I tell my grandchildren they have to be either vets or dentists talk about a license to print money and we still don’t know if the insurance will pay out the vet think not as they say it’s an ongoing problem we will see . Talking about grandchildren we are off out now to see the life of Pi at the theatre I’m more excited than them it’s puppetry like war horse and it’s got brilliant reviews. Gers them butteries sound delicious Nan good to hear the review went well as expected and take care of yourself you to Camelot must now sneak out of the door before the dog gives me her sad eyes . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Late posting from me today. Went to FC this morning then out to meet a fellow MSE'er who was down this way dropping her DD back to uni. We had a coffee and a natter then her and her DH headed back to Doncaster. Lovely to meet in real life!
DS2's birthday is on Monday so we will go for lunch in Canterbury tomorrow. He requested a bookmark amongst other things - have searched high and low in the town to no avail!
