Hi all...hope you're having a super christmas
I just wondered how many people are going to recycle their christmas pressies.
I have been given some gorgeous pressies and eventhough I dont wish to sound ungrateful (and I'm really not)...its just that when I look at the list of people I have to buy for I would prefer to recycle and save myself some money.
1. Three Lovely Toiletry sets ~ but I have sooooo many toiltries from Tesco glitches to last me ages anyway.
2. Slipper socks (I have large feet so they never fit the size they state
)
3. Silver photo frame (my lounge is golds/browns and reds so silver doesnt go).
4. Two Boxes of chocolates... (starting diet in new year so dont want to put on loads of weight just to struggle to take off eventhough I am keeping two boxes lol
) On my local freecycle they have chocolates listed on today lol, so they're probably doing the same.
5. Scarf/glove set - with glittery bits in ...probably a little too young for me so going to put away for my neice christmas pressie next year. I dont see the giver very often so they wouldnt notice.
6. I also have a £20 Boots gift card which I will be using in the sales for pressies

Me too.
1/ Lovely Crabtree & Evelyn set - contains SLS (like most bath stuff) which irritates my skin.
2/ !!!!!cat diary - I've already get two!
3/ Cath Kidston keyring:wave:0 -
I have to admit to doing that............not this year though. Everything I've got has either been wanted or needed. I did find some pink and purple candles in a box when I was having a sort through stuff.,.........must have had them bought for my birthday. Whole house is either green or rust..........nothing pinkish and to be honest its not a colour Im fond of so they might have to be put to one side to pass on to someone else.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

To be honest, we haven't had anything this year we could pass on - I've had a brolly I actually asked for, hubby got some money that he's using for fishing kit, and we had a few boxes of biscuits that are well enough dated to be used for snacks at the four birthday parties we've got coming in this house in the next 4 months.
But I have been known to regift (and use giftcards to buy pressies) in the past, and so long as you're careful to send actual presents to the other side of the family, I can't see the problem.

One thing I have always wondered: I have heard many strories in the past where someone would get a gift back that they had actually given someone the year before. How does everyone here prevent this?0

Keep a list of all the gifts that you intend recycling, and make a note of the original 'donor', and then this prevents any embarrasing situations.0 -
squawkbox, i write who the gift is FOR in a little book. then when it comes to the next christmas i know that person defo didnt buy it me!
hope everyone had a good one

I am recyling all of mine down to the nearest charity shop.
DH and I don't swap presents and our siblings/friends don't either. That just leaves the IL's and my parents. They refuse to stop (to be fair my DH wants presents from his parents and doesn't want to stop either. However, I bet he has no idea what 'we' bought them!). Fine...
1. Ceramic fish bowl with olive oil and fish herbs - cost £19, which I think is a lot for what it is.
2. Gardening T-shirt - nice quality and design but I know I won't wear it.
3. Handbag - from my father and his wife. Yet to arrive. I may like it though! I'm just not really a handbag type of girl...0 -
we are a bit skint this year spent spare money on the kids, so we have had a few things which we are going to recycle for aunts presents as we don't see them till after xmas. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-09
