Can a G99 agreement be taken on by a different installer

Options
Hi,

Scenario is that one installer started the process with SSEN (our DNO) and reached the stage where our proposed project was approved. Subsequently the deal with that installervis virtually dead due to series of delays caused by their design errors.

If I end up ditching them and turning to an alternative installer, does the G99 process have to restart fron scratch? I'm not sure If their approval is specific to the installer submitting the application, or if it's a generic approval for our property.

Thanks.

Only anecdotal, but I had an installer applying for a G83/2 (I think) permission to excedd 3.68kW export. But they'd gotten their PV panel prices wrong, and I switched to another installer. This was a decade ago, but I recall the DNO starting again, as the application form includes the certified qualifications of the installer requesting it. So it was, I believe, installer specific, not to the property.

Hope this helps, but I may be misremembering, and things may have changed since 2012.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Thanks. Disappointing if that's the case. We've already had to wait out the 45 work8ng days twice with the one installer so I was hoping not to have to do so a third time.

This may be fantasy but in an ideal world I'd get something in right away under G98, the upgrade once the G99 approval is through. I know SSEN will allow under G99 and G100 and these shouldn't change as the limiting factor is our transformer and service cable, not network or neighbouring properties.

Shouldn't matter, there's a revision box at the top to track changes? Just change the details. Our DNO seems fairly flexible around the process

You have to list the equipment used on the G99 application. If the specification remains the same I don't really see what difference the name of an installer makes. However, reality may be different. Have you tried speaking to the DNO?

Trouble is I don't have the paperwork, and if I'm ditching this installer he's not likely to be handing it over. What's interesting is that they actually said that changing the equipment wouldn't matter as long as it doesn't exceed the limits given. So for example they proposed a 6kW Solaredge inverter, but with that approved they could install any other sort as long as it's no more than 6kW. But I don't know whether to believe them given my experience.

I might try asking SSEN, I did have some direct correspondence when they were suggesting "reinforcement".

Did you pay the installer for the G99 application? If you did, then I think it is your property.

Call the DNO and request a copy of the application, it's not tied to the installer it's tied to your property
