I know in England and Wales the CSA may be the only support collection on offer (dont know about Scotland)but we were first with the court system, late/missed payments ended up in magistrates and a possible custodial term meant arrears magically got paid...
Forcibly switched to the CSA and the AP ran up £6000 arrears which he only cleared by us RETURNING 50% of payments, last payment his son was 20....(so he only actually paid £3000 nett) (then he bought a classic car)
CSA were a toothless tiger if ever there was one....
Is the CSA any better now?
(asking for a family member)

Now we all know how it felt to play in the band on the Titanic...

We desperately need help, my husband has backdated csa debt - the kids he adopted from ex wife are in 30’s - hubby had it deducted at source at Tesco now lost his job due to disability and only received a payment of 800 a month. We’ve been paying £25 a month to keep it going - today they took £468.75 plus an extra £10 not sure if this is allowed - apparently it’s a court thing - we need help0
