I can't even find much online. Last time this happened I booked some decent tickets- this time I can't see anything at all.

I had an email from West Midlands Railway about it this morning, here's the link to the information on their website, although it's not very obvious at first glance how to actually find sale tickets.

You can't get railcard discounts on these ticket prices.  If you are eligible for a card they are not quite the bargain they seem (if you can find any!).
