Thanks lonelygambler, It's so easy to do. Especially with my mindset that I could win big. Truth is, I've never won big. The most I've won is on virgin, which was £140. They've had all of that back, but I've self excluded. I'm watching a lot of videos on tiktok of people who buy lots of scratchcards and show how they never get back what they put in. My mindset is beginning to shift and I'm getting a bit fed up of cheating myself and putting money in their pocket which could be kept in mine. The odds of winning a large amount on a scratchcard are tiny in comparison to the amount of cards out there. Hope you're doing well?Lonelygambler said:As an addict who nearly lost everything and started with small flutters, please please bet responsibly! It's a horrible addiction that nearly ended me.0 -
Manages to sort out a zero percent balance transfer- virgin 0% til August 2027 with a 3.5% fee. I took the fee on the chin, as there are no no-fee cards available to me like before.
I have transferred over 6k from natwest, which was due to end Sept 25. This leaves £620 on natwest, which il pay off over next couple of months. I have done it early as it was playing on my mind and we have barclays due may next year also.
Onto general budget stuff: we managed to stick to the food budget last month for the first time in ages,I was very chuffed to have about £15 leftover which I transferred to my savings.
Motorbike insurance is due in June and I have paid in full using the saving pot
Also, breakdown cover was a bargain at £19 for the year with no excess.
Debt situation is as follows:
Natwest 0% Sept 25 £614
Barclaycard 0% may 26 £7360- going to be working on paying off this one now.
Lloyds bank 0% Dec 26 £2540
Virgin 0% Aug 27 £6220
Total £16734
Nearly there. I have also closed my national lottery account as I was being ridiculous and just adding £20 a week to play online scratchcards and winning nothing time and time again, other than 2 quid or a fiver here and there, which I was then using again to try and win big. I then increased to £40 a week and at that point thought no. This needs to stop. That's £160 a month. I looked through my bank statements and can see I've spent almost £700 on national lottery in 7months. And won nothing. Sick of it,so I thought I'd take responsibility and close the account. I'm getting urges to re-open, but reassuring myself it is fruitless and a waste of money, which seems to be working.
Hope you're all well2 -

Hi if you want to have a little flutter buy premium bonds, because if you don't win you can still get your money back. V x1

When the National Lottery was introduced, I said it was a con. I have not changed my mind0
