Hi, i hope this is in the correct place, this is my first post!
I was given an Ipod Touch for Christmas from Argos and its not working, it doesnt seem to be charging up properly and it plays a total of about 3 songs then just goes off!
i have the receipt but the online catalogue says that these type of products are no included in the 30 day money back guarentee.
Can anyone tell me, if i take it back today, willi get a refund?? (i dont want a replacement as this is the 2nd or 3rd ipod product i have had problemes with)
Thanks

You can return a faulty item for a refund. The 30 day rule applies to items that you buy but then for whatever reason change your mind and want a refund

This only applies if it is still within the 30 days of purchase. If it was bought on or before the 26th November (30 days ago) then they will send it to be repaired before any chances of refund or replacement. There are 12 months warranty on everything, but after 30 days if it can it will be sent off for repair.wannabe_a_mum wrote: »You can return a faulty item for a refund. I'd say you should get a refund.0 -
Sorry to butt in on your thread but i was wondering, why does Argos have a policy where some items aren't included in the 30 money back thingy?
I noticed this on a reciept i got with a bratz camera i bought.“Hope is the only bee that makes honey without flowers.”

i think its to do with hygine reasons ie pierced earrings, hair clipper etc and recordable media ie: cameras ,memory cards, mp3s ...i think thats right can someone confirm? :xmassmile0 -
I think it also applies to things that you might want to use for a holiday or other short period -cameras, video cams, etc? - but that won't show signs of wear.0

Thanks for answering

This only applies if Argos would refuse a refund after repair, because the terms and conditions of entering into a sale with Argos is that within 12 months but after 30 days if it can be repaired then it will be.Have a look here, some good reading:http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi-bin/calitem.cgi?file=adv0050-1011.txt
I'd say you should get a refund.
Think of it like this, if you owned a business selling TVs, sold a £600 TV to a customer, then after 2 months the customer returned it claiming it's faulty, then the shop would send it off to be repaired, because it may only cost £40 to repair the faulty component, then the business owner has rectified the problem and does not have to give a refund.
The link above does say:
"...However, if goods are faulty, your entitlement to a refund or repair may depend on the time that has passed since purchase."[DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

It's also because cameras, MP3s etc also take personal information about you, eg when it was activated, and any pics left on etc.[DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

MAY NEED RESETTING!
Try holding down the select and menu buttons for at least 10 seconds or until the Apple logo appears. This will reset your apple ipod. See if this works. Our daughters ipod went off and we looked on the apple ipod forums. This seems to have worked. We were frantic as we couldn''t find the receipt!0
