Hi and welcome! I second SouthCoast bank switching is well worth considering, I have made close to £1000 over the years doing, and the hassle has definitely been worth it for me CM1

Thank you all. Unfortunately it seems I have missed the boat on the switching and gaining money for doing so, so my intention is to keep an eye on this and move some DDs over when necessary and switch straight away
It's been quite a week. Lots going on and I've been incredibly busy, flu has hit our household too so that is always fun.
My other bank (Nationwide) is offering a savings account at 8% with a max of £200 per month added to it so I am going to sort this out after writing this. Plan is to move about £2.6K over to it and then move another £200 from my other savings account to the 8% one for 12 months, it should net me £400 extra in 12 months. Need to look at whether I pay tax on this, I presume I will as it is not an ISA.
I hate that NONE of this is taught in schools. I will ensure my bonus son grows up being far more money savvy than I have
Spoke to my mortgage company again as I had a letter confirming a new DD, so had to ring them and cancel that again and reassured them that I have set up my standing order which will OP my mortgage over a 4 week period by £32 per month and then I will be throwing in chunks on top of that every month from my commission at work.
Spreadsheets are making me happy, keeping me accountable and making me think about where my money is going. I use cash a lot, I'm not a bit fan of using plastic to pay for things and I have found this saves me money overall because I hate handing cash over
Hope you are all ok and happy February!!

Sorry. I think you misunderstand the Nationwide offer. You can only add up to £200 per month but not front load.Happy to be wrong.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
