What do you mean by "Security Clearance", BPSS is entry level for a log of civil service jobs, above that you have "Security Check", "Enhanced Security Check", Developed Vetting and "Enhanced Developed Vetting", there can also be Counter Terrorist Check as well.
As for whether it will show on any of those, I am not sure about BPSS or CTC I am not sure, but for any of the others then yes it will show in the various reports and investigations they conduct into you and your affairs, whether it matters depends on whether it was a one off, repeated pattern of behaviour, an indicator of financial strain etc. I am slightly surprised that this was not all explained to you as it is normally made very clear to anyone subject to a Security Check or above and even BPSS comes and is fairly clearly explained.

Are you asking if it will appear on a credit report?
Yes, defaulted accounts stay for 6 years0 -
I’m new in this county and started looking for work and got an interview but showed SC needed. I had some defaults being registered into my credit file so I’m thinking not to go or not0

If you're new to the UK with limited history it could take a very long time to get the clearance you need in order to take up the job (I know of one person whose clearance took over 9 months for SC, and they couldn't take up the position until they had the clearance) and I don't think they had any financial issues to contend with.tksnota said:I’m new in this county and started looking for work and got an interview but showed SC needed. On that basis there is no way you would pass a Security Check or anything higher, you might pass BPSS but even then they usually require you to have been resident in the UK for a minimum of twelve months and in many cases it can be three years. The fact that you have only been here a short while and already have defaults would not be regarded as a good position to be in though.tksnota said:I’m new in this county and started looking for work and got an interview but showed SC needed. I would recommend you look for a different potential employer.0
