HMRC rebate - how long should it take ?

Options
I have a tax rebate due after sending in my self assessment in October.
I have requested on the HMRC website for the rebate to be wired to my bank a/c (cheeky that you have to do this otherwise it just sits in their a/c !).
It still hasn't landed in my a/c.. Wondered how long it should take ?
Anyone else in the same boat ? How can we chase it pls ?

  • I waited three and a half months to get my tax rebate after a termination payment being over taxed. But I found if you use the contact robot and type ‘adviser’ in the chat it will transfer you to a human. I had to write adviser a couple of times to get through. They want your national insurance number, your date of birth, full name and address. The dates provided by the adviser wasn’t entirely accurate but the it was within a couple of weeks. https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/ask-hmrc/chat/paye?_ga=2.225135578.1567665511.1705507082-694693013.1705086943 It is quicker before 10 am.

Thanks, I was able to log into the chat and after attempting to talk to three humans that cut me off when i didn't answer a security question fast enough !, I ultimately found a friendly one who was able to help me and rectify the issue. They said their was a systems issue their end
