Mobile Phone Return

Hi,
I bought my daughter a Nokia 5200 for Christmas, we can't get the back of the phone off to insert the battery or the sim card. I don't know if it's faulty but it wont budge. Can I return this and exchange for another one, or even a different phone?
I bought it at the begining of November. Will this make any difference?
Also, does anyone know if Argos are open Boxing Day?
Cheers.

Yep, you're out of the standard return time.
Having said that, I very much doubt that it is faulty. Probably just needs the right pressure with a thumb in the right place on battery cover. Once it's done a couple of times, it will come off easy.0 -
Thanks.
I know I'm beyond the standard return time, but this isn't a standard return. The thing wont open and it's not been used.
I understand about just using the right amount of pressure in just the right place, but really it's stuck fast. My fingers are killing me from trying to open it. I tried a few other options (coin, knife) but none of them have worked, and I'm worried about breaking it.
Surely if it wont open they will have to exchange for me.0 -
If you really want they will send it to be repaired and the agent may replace the casing but no after 30 days (but within 12 months) it has to go to repair before any replacements or refunds are offered.[DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

Got the phone exchanged no problem. They where more than helpful.
They tried to open it and couldn't. They didn't have any of the same model is stock so we got a Samsung E390. Cheers.0
