Good afternoon all,
I have Nationwide via Moorecroft chasing a debt from 2013, which ended in 2019 under a DMP.
I have sent them the pre made letters that are available online stating prove the debt.

Re: NATIONWIDE BUILDING SOCIETY
Website: www.MDRL.co.uk
Date: 27/11/2023
Moorcroft Reference:
Balance: £16445.57
Further to your recent communication in respect of the above account, we are writing to confirm we have been in contact with NATIONWIDE BUILDING SOCIETY.
Upon investigation of your account our client has advised they have no records of any recent disputes, the account was last disputed in 2018. A final response letter was sent to you along with proof of liability by our client in 2018/2019.
They have advised therefore, that they believe the outstanding balance is correct and remains due for payment.
We have placed your account on hold until 22/12/2023 to allow you suitable time to reply to this letter.
Is there any advice that you can offer me to get this concluded.
thank you,

First thing you need to do is delete any personal details from your post.
Ask them to send you copies of anything that proves liability and that without that you don't accept that any liability exists.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. When i sent the prove the debt letter this is the reply I got:Thank you for your recent communication in relation to the above account. We write to advise that the claim of liability and recovery action rests completely with our client. We believe that they will have also kept you updated to the position of your account, your liability and their decision to use our services. We would also stress that any request to cease recovery is a matter for our client to address also. As such we have referred on your letter to them and asked that they confirm any direct dispute they have received and to confirm how they wish to proceed with the recovery of this account. We will of course revert back to you with an update and our client`s further instruction when it is received.
I then got the letter above in my original post.

You say the debt "ended under a DMP".
What exactly does that mean?
Did you repay in full? do you have proof of what was paid? who administered your DMP?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I am trying to recall who dealt with it, it was such a long time ago.
All the debts I had within the DMP all ended bar this one.
Thanks0 -
