rust in washing machine drawer

I seem to be getting flakes of rust in the washing machine dispenser drawer. I did give it a wipe out. The machine is 7 and half years old. So guessing its a new machine?

Hi.remove drawer and have a look at the top of section, maybe needs a scrape or clean with old toothbrush.Put something on the bottom of drawer section to catch any muck.1

If you can get the drawer out clean as said above.
If that doesn't work maybe there is a way to seal it with something like duck tape?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
